...on any board, so let's have it.

Julio Cesar Chavez vs. Sandy Saddler, over fifteen, at 130lbs. Saddler knocked out three LW Champions, before anyone protests the size, so I pre-emptively dispute any claims which may arise to the effect that Saddler would be significantly hampered at this weight. 130 was, if not Chavez's best weight (& IMO, it was 135) very close to it.

This has got stoppage written all over it, but for whom?

Chavez stops him in the 8th in a one-sided affair.

    I agree. More than anyone.

    But so is TLC.

He has no interest in boxing before Floyd Mayweather and basically just comes to MM to instigate. I remember Hanz being banned specifically from the MMA forum and I still think TLC should be dealt with the same way here. At least Hanz' instigation was playful and fun, TLC's is just lazy, half assed trolling.

But anyway, back to the point...

I rather like Chavez 10-5, based on how much trouble Charlie Reily's in fighting and constant pressure gave Sandy. From everything I've seen it wasn't really in Saddler's nature to use his range and length defensively as he'd probably have to against Chavez. If Chavez can get inside consistently there's only one winner, even if rounds are competitive.

Sounds reasonable to me. Saddler was build to destroy boxer-types, but he wasn't at his best at close and Chavez could take a punch and come in though them. Riley (at least that's how his former opponent Elis Ask wrote his name in his biography) was indeed a solid aggressor but obviously not i Chave' level

Chavez for sure... I think Saddler is one of the 3 or 4 greatest featherweights who ever breathed, but he was a featherweight... he had some fights at 130, but most of these were against other guys who were also over-the-weight featherweights... I just can't see him keeping Chavez, an exceptionally strong 130 pounder, off of him... it'd be fierce and dirty, but I like JCC buy clear cut decision... I don't see him stopping Saddler, who was a tough bastard and a survivor of the first order

    Saddler quit in a fight.

    Chavez would make him retire.

You forgot double digit losses in his prime, lack of any semblance of boxing ability, no defense, Tito-esque jab defense.

And the fact that boxing was so poorly officiated back then, that half of his punches were landed Bernard Hopkins clinch style.

He was just in general, a very dirty fighter. He beat Pep by making the fight look like a cagefighting bout rather than a boxing match.

My favourite part of that bumfight is that the guy says that Elorde is a featherfist then literally a second later Saddler is on queer street and is being pelted by constant shots..

you didn't even know the guy's name that Saddler lost to

you think that Chavez's opposition for his first 50 fights or so is in any way comparable to Saddler's?

    "Shoeshining Griffin"? who is that?

    Saddler fought complete bum fighters.

Even the so called "good" fighters he fought had records padded off of OTHER bums. :laugh11:

If a guy like Saddler could be such a legend despite all video evidence pointing to the complete LACK of ability the guy had(outside of a strong punch)...then.:laugh11:

Chavez beats the shit out of him like that so called feather fist(announcers words about 10 seconds beforehand) that rocked him in that Youtube clip.

Using something they call in modern terms..."technique"

And if I'm "trolling" as usually pined.

Please tell me one good thing about this bum from this clip? Besides being really big in comparison to his opposition and landing a ton of illegal shots?

The guy he's fighting is the one who at least looks to be decent, even if he isn't the fastest or biggest of guys, and apparently didn't pack the hardest punch. At least he has some fucking technique.

Please tell me he won this fight as well?

Also please tell me how Chavez fails to stop a guy who blocks punches with his face? And who might actually be bigger than him.
