While Hatley Clearly AIN'T Jake LaMotta, he's Got a BETTER Chin than Amir Khan Does...He's Also More Willing to ENGAGE @ Close Quarters than Khan is...That Could Wind up BITING Hatley in the Ass, but it Also Speaks Volumes about his BRAVERY...

Is Hatley's Coach a "Personal Friend"???...It's Mostly a BUSINESS Friendship, but Yes, he Is...Hatley's Trained (Managed & Promoted) by his Father, Greg Hatley, Sr....But NONE of that has Any Bearing on Your Opinion Though...U're Entitled to it...

AND, MORE than a Few have Expressed Similar Concerns to REED...It's Not So Much that Greg DOESN'T Know what he's Doing (REED Thinks he Does), it's the Possibility that his Son ISN'T Listening to him Anymore...Hatley's Been Boxing for Nearly 20 Years & his Old Man is THE ONLY Coach he's EVER Had...

A FRESH Outlook &/or a DIFFERENT Voice May Not B Such a Bad Idea...

Both Hatley and Yanez are good young prospects.

An elite trainer would significantly improve and develop both of them to be very good professional fighters as they both have a pro style.

Hatley does have a tendency to hit with the open glove at times as folks have pointed out here, but that is from all of those amateur fights, and he will grow out of that.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. punched similar at the beginning of his pro career if you folks remember that, and he shook it off after awhile.

Yanez to me is a real banging southpaw who truly loves to fight and likes all the action that he can get.

I think Luis can perhaps become another Jesse Benavides, a terrific fighter who was a light southpaw World Champion from Corpus Christi, and trained by Manny Steward in the pros.

Once he gets an elite trainer, Luis can really make a lot of money not only fighting, but out of it as well as he is such a charismatic kid and should go over big with the Latin media market there.

Did you just compare Charles "The failure" Hatley to Floyd Mayweather Jr. ? The only thing those two have in common is that one fights bums and the other is a bum. Guess which is which.

Compare Han and Henry, similar competition and Han is doing better... hehe (stretch)
Now MOST ppl out there think Henry is a better prospect than Hatley (hes not), so therefore one can (not so) logically conclude that......... Han should never get in ring vs Hatley, lol

Spag is responsible for us NEVER having heard of Austin Trout until he faced Canelo's brother... lol and also for David Rodriguez getting to 153-0 w/o a single opponent registering a pulse during prefight physical.. So of course he wont match Han w/anyone until he fineagles a top 4 WBC/A/G/F/U/V ranking for him..

Yeah, he looks tougher than Amir. I just meant stylistically he has similar strengths and weaknesses, in skill set terms. If a guy can inside on him he's largely at sea. Against a guy who'll stay at range he'll look like a world beater.

Omar Henry has some serious mental/maturity issues, and he may have closed the door for good on his own professional career with his bizarre behavior outside of the ring.

In other words; the kid has a screw loose.

It seems Ashley has pulled a vanishing act as I have not heard of her since last summer.

Mendez seems to have dropped off the radar screen as well.

Those two are not doing themselves any favors whatsoever as they are in their peak formative years as fighters and need to be fighting at least every six to eight weeks.

They are going to look back with regret later for squandering their best days as boxers, I assure you that as I am an authority on the subject.

Henry is a delusional, arrogant prick. That's the long and short of it. It's great for fighters to have fun with their fame, but even once you look past the part where he's not even on the radar, he's already to the point where no matter what he accomplishes from here on out (if he actually ever fights again), it still won't live up to how great he thinks he is RIGHT NOW.

I don't think I've ever seen Abraham Han before, other than Mike's interviews.

I can honestly tell you Omar was not like this last March, which was the last time I saw him, Jake.

The kid is always super gracious and complimentary with me, but I could tell he was out of touch with reality after that last fight of his that I did not attend.

Ringsidemike was there, and the impression that I got was that he thinks he is something that he is not, but I don't know where all of that started from.

I did a piece on him, and when I sent it to Omar all I received from the kid was a three word response.."Las Vegas baby!"

I think he got out of hand with facebook and just the internet as a whole, and from what I hear now, the kid is basically homeless, Jake.

If he ever wants to straighten up and return here to his boxing roots to rebuild his career, I'll assist to a degree if he behaves himself.

Yeah that's sad. He seemed like he was well on his way when he first turned pro. It's funny, his demise seemed to come right around the time he was pretending to roll w/ Ellerbe. I know it got him in trouble w/ Top Rank (and w/ Cameron), but even sitting out for eight months and counting hasn't convinced him that his way isn't working very well.
