Why would they let him do whatever the fuck he wants? What has he done to warrant this? Overeem hasnt done shit in MMA lately that would warrant that kind of treatment. :wack:

Dana already said he wanted him. They've already been in discussion.

No, they won't let Overeem do whatever the fuck he wants. If he still wants to fight in K-1 (it's my assumption he will, but maybe he accomplished what he wanted) the UFC will not allow it. The only extracurricular combat sport that UFC fighters are allowed to compete in are grappling competitions.

UFC wouldn't let Anderson box, they sure as hell won't allow Overeem to kickbox.

They were going to let Fedor compete in Sambo so that's not accurate.

The deal with Anderson was probably just an image issue....Dana probably didn't want Anderson to get schooled and make MMA look bad despite all the shit he talks about boxing and how it's not real fighting and whatnot.

Overeem is a GP winning kickboxer, they don't have anything to worry about except him missing a December card.

Plus as I said, the whole situation with FEG is very grim right now.

They haven't even paid Overeem for winning the GP.

He probably would stop kickboxing to come to the UFC if they gave him a big offer.

The Sambo agreement was a MAJOR compromise on part of the UFC. That played a big part in Fedor not signing for quite a while. Then they finally caved, and of course some other things got in the way. Overeem is a beast, but they know it's possible that he gets the shit knocked out of him in K-1 and is unable to fight for the UFC. That said, I'd love to see him in the UFC, especially if he dominates this tournament.

Overeem doesn't do that much kickboxing though, that's the thing.

He's a lot like Schilt in that he pretty much only does the Grand Prix.

And if they don't pay him anytime soon, he might not do that anymore.

overeem might be able to make good money sticking w/ SF, especially if he wins the grand prix. i think the whole tourney might attribute to some success for SF and wouldnt be surprised if they acquired some decent heavies that were let go by the ufc. they can also scout some up and coming heavies from bellator as well.
