I didn't notice any threads to discuss the outcomes of these fights, so here it is.

    My thoughts:

Vic just isn't shit at 118. 115 is absolutely the last stop for his loading up, face first, squaring up, crab style. Against guys at 118, that shit just doesn't fly.

As for Agbeko, I picked him to win. But by 5 rounds? No. The guy looked like Ike Quartey in there, with good foot-work. And his chin's even brttrt.

REED is PROUD to Admit that he Picked BOTH Mares AND Agbeko...Honestly, REED Hasn't Had Much Use for Darchinyan Since he RAN from a RE w/Donaire...Dude's a FRONTRUNNER, Plain & Simple...

I picked Vic - probably the first big fight he's been in that I picked him to win.

Mares is tough, but I'm reluctant to read too much into a win over a clearly fading Vic at 118. I think it's a safe bet that Agbeko will beat Mares to win the tournament.

In the consolation fight, I can't imagine Vic not getting beaten badly, if not stopped by Perez. Perez seems to be one of those guys with one gear.

It's funny because whereas Agbeko implied he'd gone toe-to-toe with Perez too much, Mares claimed he boxed too much.

I didn't mind Mares getting the decision, but the ref really was thwarting Vic's chances throughout.

    Mares made Vic his bitch.

There needs to be conviction on the part of fans and judges alike that if a fighter makes a bitch out of the other that he wins the match.

Vic made excuses after the fight. Before the fight, he said it was a mismatch. Vic is evil and his defeats are brilliant to watch, especially his loss at the hands of Donaire.

Both fights were pretty good and both results were good for the division.

Both results reflected what happened in the ring. In that sense, it was a much more authentic boxingevening that HBO could ever provide.

could very well be. Have to admit, of all of the major fights from the past weekend, Perez-Agbeko was the one fight I thought for certain was a sure bet. I picked Perez to win a decision wider than their first fight. Couldn't have been more wrong.
