List some fouls where a point might have been deducted or whatever but in the end it was worth it. For example Golota Bowe II. Round 4. Golota was dropped and seriously hurt goes low and buys himself some time to recover and put the hurt back on Bowe. Only to blow it like an idiot in the end Diego Corrales was being battered by Castillo and would have been stopped most likely but he smartly keeps spitting out the mouth piece which buys him time and he comes back to KO Castillo. List more.
Can we please not end the thread ? Even though that is a good example too ? I mean maybe people want to add more. Let's not end it.....
Riddick Bowe hit Pierre Coetzer with a low blow followed by a uppercut...Coetzer sorta turned away after the punches and a couple follow up shots and Mills Lane stopped it.
Zab Judah...fouling Mayweather Jr. didn't win him the fight, but might have allowed him to go the distance...and the reaction it got from Mayweather's corner could have won him the fight on a DQ.
Castillo vs. Corrales is the real end threade.....Tito vs. Vargas is not...Trinidad was in no way out on his feet on the verge of getting stop the way Corrales was before he started spitting out the mouthpiece.
The moment I saw the thread title I knew Tito-Vargas would be featured. The only deliberate foul that Tito did in that fight was in response to Vargas' THUMBING in the 3rd round. The low blow post-KD in the 4th was accidental and borderline in any event.
Was going to say, if there was a /thread pick, it'd be Duran-Ken Buchanan. And with a shot to the balls, the legend begins...
Floyd injecting his hands with Xylocaine before his fights. Roy and Hall loading up on Ripped Fuel before their fight
Except he was already winning the fight dominantly. It saved him an extra 6 minutes of work I suppose but I don't think it 'paid off' in any other way.
Nigel benn unintentionally headbutting McLellan and then intentionally fouling him in the back of the head continually.
Good and interesting topic. I'll read through it before I reply though - my guess is whatever has come to mind was already posted.
It was low. The glove hits both the belt-line and below it. Not Golota-esque, but still low. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wnq2-hGr1g#t=10m34s I don't think Trinidad was going to get stopped, but I don't think it was accidental either.
Sam Peters rabbit-punches might deserve a mention, as would Sandy Saddlers rabbit and kidney shots, and arm-twisting, versus Willie Pep.
