Just as info, Bellator 35 is on MTV 2 tonight. Former Champion Lyman Good is fighting as they kick off their Welterweight tourney. This is a pretty interesting group: Lyman Good----Former Bellator champ who is an absolute animal but was dominated by Former Division 1 wrestling stud Ben Askren in his last fight. Chris Lozano----Relative newcomer with only 6 fights. He's coming off a destruction of Yoshuki Yoshida. Brent Weedman----Decent striker with 23 fights under his belt. Dan Hornbuckle----Probably the most experienced guy in the tournament outside Hieron. Lost last season to Askren. Decent BJJ guy with 10 submission wins Anthony Lapsley----High School wrestling champ. Former King of the Cage champ. (Look for his double knockout fight on you tube) Jay Hieron----UFC, Strikeforce and IFL vet is the favorite to win the tournament. Made some noise in Strikeforce with wins over Joe Riggs and Jesse Taylor. Strikeforce didn't renew his contract because Hieron demanded a shot at Nick Diaz. Jim Wallhead----Judo Blackbelt and former British Judo champion. Was one of the favorites in last seasons WW tourney but had to withdraw due to the volcanic ash cloud that prevented him from traveling. Rick Hawn---- My favorite fighter in the tourney. Undefeated in his 9 fight career. Former US Judo Olympic team member and Pan Am Judo medal winner. Trains with Mark Dellagrotte at Team Sityodtong in Boston.. Watch this kid. Tonight will be a good test and give an idea of how he can do in the tournament. Bad arrangement in cut and paste editing. Thanks for the catch. Do you give Lozano a chance against Good?
Yes. But Good will probably win. Superior grappler, although wouldn't be horribly shocked if Lozano was able to prevent the TD.
I watched Lozano's fight with Yoshida. It looks like he's got good power. He knocked Yoshida down with a spinning back elbow to the liver. Unreal.
Hornbuckle gets robbed by typical laying in someone's full guard fending off submission attempts = winning logic.
