RJJ is like a smaller and less durable version of Ali. And at HW he was already diminished to an extent; the version that fought Ruiz would most likely get knocked out.

Will anyone give Jones even an outside shot? Me neither.

    Nope.

But it would be a fight that in an odd way would be interestingly boring for a while.

Only because of their names. The fight itself would not be.

A more interesting fight is the Jones that fought Calzaghe vs the Ali that fought Trevor Berbick.

That fella in your sig is from Hounslow

Anyway, I'd favour Ali but I actually think it would be quite competitive

If this fight lasted the distance Qwerty would say Ali robbed Dog Jones and Ron Jones

Not a chance. Ali would beat him silly in 7 rounds max!

Gimme Jones in that one. A shot Ali must be the most shot fighter in the history of shotedness. Even a shot Jones takes him.

So are you saying that the bigger guy automatically wins?

Great big man beats less great and smaller man.

RJJ has literally nothing for Ali.

And that is because Ali is bigger, correct? Since Jones is faster and has more all-around skills

LOL. If Jones ever got within a hundred miles of besting someone as great as Ali, I might entertain that.

Yes, but Ali clearly lacked several boxing fundamentals

I may be in a minority of one but I think Roy would pose Ali allot of problems. Ali couldn't lead effectively for shit and for the first time ever he'd be in with somebody faster than him to boot.

Don't get me wrong - at some point Ali's gonna put something together and I don't think Roy will stand up to it, but it might be surprisingly awkward until that happens, whenever it does.

All that said, Ali KO 6.

I just watched a couple rounds of Jones-Ruiz. Let me retract the above - Ali KO 1.

Dude..... (and thanks for saying Ali KO 6)

Roy Jones at heavyweight WAS NOT faster than Ali at Heavyweight, not pre-exile Ali. No way, no how. Look at Jones-Ruiz and compare his speed with Ali-Liston/Williams/Patterson/Terell/Foley etc. Ali was faster.

Ruiz made Jones look like a better Heavyweight than he actually was.

A prime Ali was better than Jones at heavy in every way. Jones gets far too much credit from some for cherry picking and beating Ruiz.

Ali TKO5 Jones after clowing around for a few rounds.

After some thought i'm going with Jones via 6th round TKO stopping Ali on cuts.
