This is a fight I REALLY wanna see. Cotto would be favourite, but nothing would shock me.

 

No idea what Margarito has left.

I don't usually say things like that or think along those lines, but I tend to agree with you.

He is a disgusting piece of shit, and I think he should have been permanently banned after getting caught with those wraps.

Even though it was great seeing him take the most sustained beating in years against Pacquiao, it made me sick that he got that opportunity and payday.

Same with this fight, I would rather it just didn't happen.

Without his cement wraps and after the obscene beating he took against Pacquiao, I probably slightly favour Cotto to be honest.

 

Just like in the 1st fight Cotto punches won't have much of an effect on Margarito....but if Margarito's gloves were loaded in their first fight...then Margarito punches won' t have the same effect on Cotto...:stir:

But both guys punch/punishment resistance has gone down dramatically...

Cotto wins a decision..but as usual he will be retreating after 7-8 rounds.

As for Cotto/Margarito II is concerned. Margarito is just gonna keep marching forward and unless Cotto can hurt him he will be in for another long night. Miguel has to be able to back Margarito off of him at some point. I dont know what would happen at this point. I'm gonna re watch Cotto/Mayorga now that I'm sober and see what could happen.

That won't show you much.....Mayorga would pressure Cotto for 10-20 seconds at the beginning of each rounds..and the last 10 seconds of each round...

 

Margarito will win quicker with Manny in Cottos corner.

 

I agree. The impact of plaster wraps extended far beyond the damage done to Cotto when he was hit with them. The plaster dictated the pace, meant Cotto didn't stand and trade, and as you said, couldn't work the body. An additional result was that Margarito didnt tire because he controlled the pace and didn't need to load up to throw power.

Assuming his wraps are clean for this fight, he'll get the Mosley treatment - a savage attack to the body, setting up a brutal left-hook stoppage.

 

Amyone who would make Cotto the favourite over Margarito wants their head examined.

Margarito would kill Cotto every day of the week and twice on Sunday's illegal wraps or not.

I thought the outcome of a rematch minus the loaded gloves would be different right after Margarita got pulverized by Shane. Last night's fight and the Manny beatdown of Margarito have nothing to do with it.

For me the equation is very simple. Margarito hasn't been nearly as effective since being popped for the illegal wraps so it would be ridiculous to think he would be as effective against Cotto as he was the first time around.

Let's be honest, has Margarito seemed like he's even remotely as dangerous a puncher now? He's not. Personally I think Cotto gives him a systematic beating.

 

Margarito is shit without the weapons that he smuggled into the ring with him for who knows how many fights prior to the Mosley fight.

i think it will be more of the same. i hope i am wrong and i actually really hope the fight never happens. i would be devastated if margarita won again.

i think the damage cotto sustained in the plaster fight and the pacquiao fight would be a factor in a rematch i think he will be made to retreat and sustain more damage even without margarita loading his gloves.

godfather has said that margarita sustained severe injuries from the pacquiao fight... so maybe this is a little more even that we think. either way margarita doesn't deserve it.
