Gotta take exception to Slater. Thought his turn in Heathers, & then later in Very Bad Things made for a lot of fun.

To answer, every male model out there masquerading as an actor, & that goose with the red hair on CSI Miami. So overwrought its hilarious.

Disagree on James Marsden and Ashton Kutcher. Marsden was pretty good in The Notebook and he wasn't awful in X-men. Kutcher was good in Valentines Day and in Butterfly Effect

    Seagal is plain awful.

So are most of the action stars van Damme, Lundgren etc

Seagal is awful when he's the lead, but he makes for a pretty cool character such as in Machete.

What's funny about Steven Seagal, is when he first made a splash he was considered a breath of fresh air. An action star who could actually act a little bit and lent his characters a little bit of believability.

A step up over the Chuck Norris's and Van Damme's of the world.

Nowadays he's devolved so much, he's pretty much considered in the same class as those guys now.

Seagal acts as well as he runs.

Keanu is usually pretty bad. Decent in Devil's Advocate though, IMO.

I actually liked Slater's performance in True Romance. I thought him and Arquette were solid and had good screen chemistry.

Nick Cage doesn't really belong on this list per say. But I rewatched Face Off the other day (don't ask why, it was just on) and man that had to be one of the worst acting jobs ever by him. He was terrible in that film.

Cage has a lot of acting talent. He's just inconsistent and can have some really terrible performances in addition to the really good ones.

He was excellent when he won the Oscar for Leaving Las Vegas, but I never plan to ever watching that fucking depressing movie ever again.

Raising Arizona is a favorite of mine.

The Wicker Man was hilariously bad though. Both the movie and his performance.

Nick Cage belongs nowhere near a worst actor list.

He's had too many above average to excellent performances to be considered a poor actor.

agREED entirely with this, and was also going to mention True Romance. I don't think anyone turned in a bad performance in that, even Michael Rappaport who might be worth a mention for this thread.

Man, I forgot about that movie... but kind of because I wanted to.

You can probably add the rest of that starting lineup for this thread (although I agree w/ the class that Slater is better than given credit for, even if most of his recent work blows).

Yeah you're right... wasn't in it a lot, though. Or long enough to ruin it.

I guess it depends on the material too. I thought he was terrible in Flags of Our Fathers, but then I thought the movie itself wasn't good at all, and in fact terrible for a Clint Eastwood film.

Yeah, I recently just saw "Letters From Iwo Jima", and couldn't believe the same guy made both films.

I thought Phillipe was good in "The Way Of The Gun".

    Speaking of MOBSTERS.

Patrick Dempsey is without a DOUBT one of the worst actors in cinematic history!

Compared to Dempsey... Slater is Dustin Hoffman.

The sun even shines on a dog's ass somedays.

But seriously.... Ryan Philipe isnt THAT bad. I wouldnt call him a GOOD actor, but he's ALOT better than Channing Tatum and Paul Walker.

Who's the kid (I guess he's grown now) that played young Darth Vader in the Star Wars prequels? Not the young one from Star Wars I, but the older kid in the last two.

Anyway, whatever his name is... add him.

Christensen is actually pretty good. George Lucas just doesnt direct actors well. IF you want to see a Good Hayden Christensen movie, check out shattered glass. His acting very good in there.

Christian Slater was also good in Pump up the volume

Hadyn Christianssen is worse than all of these with the possibly exception of Paul Walker. Ice T also.

What Godfather says. I used to think the same, but don't blame Christianson for ruining the Star Wars franchise............that's all on Lucas himself.

Plausible on Lucas but the performance of the Emperor in the prequels would lead me to think otherwise.
