Roy is not the most proven fighter at heavy, and Vitali is more formidable foe than Ruiz, but compared to Roy he's moving in slow motion. Can Roy outbox him for 12 rounds, or Vitali eventually catches him?
But seriously you should be banned for even implying that Roy would have a shot to win as much as a round against Vitaly.
Jones wouldn't even step in with a shot Douglas. I guess that tells us who Roy thinks would win this fight. LOL.
Still, shot Douglas is a more accomplished heavyweight than Vitali could ever dream to be. I'll take Roy, big on points.
I don't know that Roy could avoid Vitali for the full 12. Ruiz landed on Roy who, to his credit, didn't get rocked. Vitali is better than Ruiz and hits harder. I think Vitali would KO Roy early. Maybe around 4 or 5.
Just because Jones beat the awful Ruiz doesn't mean he would be able to duplicate the effort against Vitali. Vitali is a much better fighter than Ruiz. I'm trying to picture this fight...and it's not looking pretty. I can Jones running for his life and stopping at times to try to pot-shot and Vitali lumbering after Jones, trying to get a bead on him and looking like Mr. Miyagi trying to catch a fly using chopsticks. If we had seen Jones beat some other heavies, then MAYBE a case could be made for him against Vitali. But beating the made-to-order Ruiz doesn't do it for me. Vitali wins.
I was joking about Jones winning, but the fact is Buster was one quality win in his career. Vitali has no quality wins.
hno: Vitali is a good fighter, but he's fairly slow (in my opinion he's slower than Ruiz). He's quite effective against the typical heavyweights, but Jones is anything but that. The speed difference would be ridiculous here, i don't think it's so unrealistic that Jones could win some rounds despite the huge reach disadvantage.
A huge reach/height advantage can go a long way to nullifying an equally large speed differential. Roy could possibly win a round against Vitali, but that's about it.
Im not even getting into this. Douglas also has a 'better quality win' than Larry Holmes has. Wanna make that stupid argument, too?
Oliver McCall was probably better than Corrie Sanders. Holmes doesn't really apply, since he had several quality wins.
Vitali has never lumbered forward in his life. He lumbers backwards, but never forwards. I can see him step in and swat Jones a few times, Solis style , and Roy doesn't come back out of his turtle-raising shell again.
The Jones Jr that fought Ruiz had lost a step already, imo. But he still had enough to beat the oafish, arm-punching, slow-as-balls Vitali. Roy by UD.
If you truly believe that you're insane. There is a massive, massive difference between Ruiz and Vitali. Roy would have no realistic chance of beating Vitali, and the main reason is, he's just too fucking big. As oafish and clumsy as Vitali can look, he is accurate, skillful, and hits harder than Ruiz by far.
I don't really believe it, but it's funny to watch the Vitali nuthugging contingent jump up and sputter in disbelief
