The point is that there wouldn't be a huge size disparity. Once Jones decides to fight at HW he would likely be in the 235-240 range based simply on his height, limb length and walking around weight.

Size would not determine the outcome. It would come down to the better fighter. And that will depend on how the skill Jones has at 205 translates to HW. He uses a lot of leverage and power in his throws and slams. It will be interesting to see how badly that suffers.

Also, Jones isn't a particularly technical striker. He uses explosive moves to be successful with his striking. There is no telling how badly that will suffer if he does indeed carry 240 pounds around.

The one thing that won't change is his reach advantage. There are few guys in any weight class; in any organization; or in any sport with his wing span. He will also have that going for him.

It will be an interesting transformation to watch. I just hope he doesn't lose at 205 before making the move. An undefeated Jones moving up to face the Carwins and Lesnars of the world would be fun.

With all the snide and off-handed remarks dealt by the little guy, im surprised he hasnt made an attempt to be more respectful and accepting of others opinions after having been warned. first of all, Hunt isn't a legend in K1. He's a feel good story cause he miraculously won a tournalement, but he was always considered a an average k1 fighter.

Size difference is faaar from useless in the HW division. Where's that coming from. a few anecdote?

Size makes a huge difference, especially if you have the height to put it on, and not lose too much athleticism. (Like overeem does)

Anyaway, I'll stop argue about Overeem till the hw tournament is over, cause he's a pretty polirazing figure, and well only know where he stands at the end of the tournament (wich hell win ).

Did you read this whole thread? Jon Jones was 220 with 8% bodyfat 3 weeks prior to the Bader fight. So if he fought at HW, he would land right around the 240-245 mark. So 1 inch and 15-20 pounds is not going to make a difference in the fight.

 

Read this whole thread from page 2 forward. He was misinformed, coreccted and given an out. But he stuck around and asked for more,blew his top and got the boot
