Igor fought different competition from a different era. Why do u diminish the achievements of every fighter but spider and aoki? Cant you enjoy the sport without criticizing every participant? Go train for 2 weeks and you will respect these guys so much morr

Igor lost to pretty much every good fighter he fought, REGARDLESS OF WEIGHT, much like Herring.

Shit, he barely beat a half-dead Sakuraba who had just fought for over an hour.

 

I'm not sure anyone thinks it's a big deal. But in retrospect, it is kind of a cool bit of history.

Herring would go on and never really have a big win in his career while Fedor ruled the division outside the UFC. And their fight was really the first mainstream taste of Fedor.

 

I didnt bash overeem. I totally admire his acievements. His competition in SF hasnt been the best and i think bones can beat him. his style is too one dimensional against ELITE MMAists. Thats my opinion and i know you disagree. I totally respect that.

Exactly!!!! Which is why it was only relevant at the time!!! Not ten years later via youtube. The magic of the moment gets lost. Maybe im a bit too nostalgic....

 

Because this forum has carried over the boxing forum's syndrome of calling everyone presently fighting shit, mediocre fighters yet praising older, yet obviously inferior fighters.

There really is no reason why a guy like Lesnar, Franklin or Overeem will be bashed on this forum incessantly and yet 5'8 HW can crusher Igor and Heath Herring are the shit.
