By the way, that fight should have been stopped a couple rounds before the 6th. Hide was clearly exhausted and using the canvas to gain some much needed rest.
Yup April 1st. He did do it don't get me wrong but it's April Fools that Herbie Hide is even news worthy.
Nah...not that, I hit the BBC Boxing page several times over the last few days and I never spotted that story. Now it is there with an April 1st date.........
All boxers are news-worthy.......once they are in trouble. Paul Weir is not a name known to most Britons as a former WBO flyweight titlist........instead, he is known as a former and imprisoned scag dealer.
I think it's legit. This is from boxingscene. By the way, if I link from another website, do I have to quote or what? http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/showthread.php?p=10314951
Normally you have to quote, but forum rules and protocols are suspended in this case. Its known as the "HERBIE HIDE EXCEPTION". One is allowed to post hardcore porn in Herbie Hide threads. This is true.
Bowe-Hide was one strange fight. <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/bIfmOyl31DQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Bowe was weight-drained, it was because of the constant weight loss, the effect on his nervous system, it was because of.............:boring:
Why was Hide so fucked so early in this fight? I heard Teddy Atlas saying (in commentary) that a reason could be the pressure of the crowd effecting him. Hide did throw an awful lot, which must have resulted in this and was being pressured as Bowe was practically falling onto Hide with all that weight. Hide fought Lampkin in December, 15 months previous to the Bowe fight in South Africa. He weighed in at 214 and a quarter lbs then, 214lbs vs Bowe. The average temparature at that time of the year must be pretty high, but probably nothing compared to fighting in March in Las Vegas.
The heavyweight division of yesterday consists of 1 brilliant heavyweight, Lennox Lewis,.. and 3 good, but not as consistant heavyweights in the 70's who had a shiiiiiiiiitlooooad of hype behind them and still do,.. that's about the reality in my opinion. :goodnews:
Bowe could have been better than Frazier, Eddie Futch said so, and it was because of the weight-drain that he lost, you know, all that weight-making the heavies do.
Thanks for connecting the dots so that the one person on here that didn't get that lame, tired joke can now understand it.
