Vanes is one of the coolest fighters to interview and hang out with, and paid me one of the biggest compliments I've ever received when he told me that my feature on him when I did a brief turn for fighthype was his personal favorite; and he linked it on his Wikipedia page.

I have always thought he will be World Champion someday, and after the win next month, he should get his shot.

Every time he sees me in Houston, he'll walk up to press row and say.."68 fights!"
