We all know about him putting a gun to Mike Tysons head, but Atlas himself alludes to attempting to murder Lalonde http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teddy_Atlas "Atlas published his autobiography, Atlas: From the Streets to the Ring: A Son's Struggle to Become a Man, in 2006. The book covers many different periods of Atlas's life, and compares his position as trainer to a role as a father. Atlas confessed in the book that at one point he was so angry at Donny LaLonde he went to his home with a gun and a friend, to kill LaLonde for firing him as manager. Atlas states in his biography that he changed his mind at last minute." :dunno: PS I never knew Atlas was of Jewish-Hungarian descent. Would explain the Klitschko hate in a hurry.
There's quite a long article with Lalonde's response here: http://www.fightnews.ca/2006/news/lalonde20060612.htm
Woah. :notallthere::notallthere: “When he made six million for Leonard, it tore me up,†writes Atlas in the HarperCollins published book, “It made me murderous.â€
Lalonde really gets stuck into him, claiming that a lot of this stems from Teddys own failings as a fighter. Lalonde might not have been the 2nd coming of Bob Foster, but for a one armed guy who was forced, Pac-man-esque by Ray Leonard to make 168, he did OK. Lalonde seems a straight shooter. Atlas seems to be batshit as a cave.
:: maybe, maybe.... Teddy loves to accuse people of not having heart, but thats twice now that Teddy has been involved, albeit by self-admission and/or the testimony of Mike Tyson, to have hefted a firearm and gone looking for somebody. He's an honest but unbalanced guy.
Oh hey, todays 168lbrs make the 1930's division look good, and that didn't even exist. But if Ward gets top spot then all bets are off.
Makes you wonder where he got the gun(s)? Can't imagine even in the U.S. he could purchase one legally. One look at the guy should be enough to know he shouldn't own one.
of course not, KauKip was just being sarcastic. Now I read that Atlas was fired for 1 week by ESPN for threatening staff, and was also disciplined because he attacked a suit whom he claimed was embroiled in surreptitious relationships with certain managers and promoters- designed as it was to get certain fighters onto ESPN. Juxtapose this against Atlas then being interrupted by Brian Kenny when he, Atlas, attempted to call out live on air some unfounded allegations against the Pac camp.
Whoops , sorry Kauki, been a long week. Think my sarcasm detector may be malfunctioning under this rare British heat ::
Ironically, Ireland is a potato importer. The fucking reason the rest of the World is full of Irish is cos we ran out of the fucking stuff. I think I am going to have to put a gun to somebody's head to resolve this.

No tales,.. a serious question,.. - Why do you keep thinking he's a good man all the time?.. With collective evidence I would have thought he was a complete and thorough, perfectly compatable personality for this boxing business.
He is probably honest and humane, and my problem would be more with the people who eulogize his psychotic ass, rather than with Teddy himself. Clearly, he is the sort of loon that the Yanks love to love- a scar-faced, hot-headed, emotive, confrontational guy who "hates dem Russians" with a passion.
