I understand that anyone can knock anyone out, but a guy with 7 ko's in 30 fights until tonite, knocking out a guy with a stout neck like Kirkland's? I also understand sweet spots, but that did not look like a sweet spot "Flash Knockdown(s)"

I doubt he was not expecting to get hit, it is a fight!

The Jap looks better than his record indicates,.. that was a good display of sharp counterpunching, I look forward to seeing him again. As for Kirkland,.. he'd best learn not to rush in with his neck out like a turtle, I gotta wonder how much believing in thier own hype stuffs these prospects up. Lemiuex was so fucken cocky before his latest loss,.. Kirkland probably had the same mindset,..'make a statement'.. It does these guys no good in the longterm, blowing scrubs out to gain a bitta 'rep' and 'buzz',.. Go some rounds for fuck sakes, absorb the experience, what are they afraid of?.. Forum trolls?.. nasty little editorialists?...

Caught cold? For a guy who claimed he was so anxious to get back into the ring? Do you believe he may not have spent enough time warming up in the locker room?

Getting caught cold is exactly what it states; it assumes you did not warm up properly. I've trained amateur guys and have been around some pros and I don't have any problem getting a guy warmed up. In fact, I go as far as to use albolene on their joints before fights so they warm up quicker and maintain it. It's akin to the tin man! I put albolene on all of the joints that could use a little "Oil".

WHat he now needs to do is fight Nathan Cleverly and get the shit pasted out of him. Oh what a fight, what a PPV card, justified to you by Kirklands mashed up face and his sheer throw-and-miss tactics.

They'll eye it, they'll eye it,.. as will bases in Germany,.. it'll be like the famous 'Baldomir auction' in a way,.. but Clever will need to prove it in his next little tincture,..he'll need little more than a click and point to steer the hansome and charismatic german back to the saxon ship,.. but we do now know around about what he'll be looking for in his first home defence.

Cleverly has a maths degree. He is one of these softies. He doesn't come from one of the toughest neighbourhoods in the Americas. When did he ever fight for 12 with a bad eye????

If Sylvester Stallone was in watching this, look for a Rocky 7 to come out in the next few years. Boxing can be a cruel sport when a guy is set up to be publicly humiliated and beaten down. It's also a glorious sport when the no hoper pulls off the upset and this was about the best example I've ever witnessed. I mean even the attitude of this Nobuhiro Ishida was gracious and humble from the moment he stepped off the plane through the moment of victory. Kind of reminded me of a young Duran (attitude wise, not skill wise), a guy who is just happy to be fighting. I like mma as well but this card tonight is proof that boxing is FAR from dead!

:wack: If you're aging there is no greater thing to do than to employ the Ariza route,.. you become immune from everything,.. you never lose, you never draw, and when you win,..it's like those gaping clowns at the carnival where you shove ping pong balls down the pipe,...

I do understand however, what has caused the volcanic pop,..

I think Hopkins gets the 'Morales treatment' in each and every article and fight. Lolly man did the right thing, 'basics', Pasc literally deflated Hopkins with a needle, .....Hopkins was so owned, he may contemplate an extremely quick and prompt retirement shortly.

Use it or lose it, I would say to the fighters out there.

    That's exactly what I said.

Ishida San actually looks decent. And although obviously not a monster puncher, those were some nice, crisp, sharp punches, certainly better than you'd expect for a guy with 6/7 KO's.
