Wow a bad stoppage imho. I think JuanMa just knocked Bernstein out with a water bottle throw. Given how much resiilience JuanMa has shown tonight and against Mtagwa to stop him on his feet still throwing back is a bad call imho.
No worries. All JuanMa needs to do is move up to 130 and be reborn anew!! But he needs to make some....propitiations first.
No real shock here tbh. Again I feel stupid for not at least straddling Salido, seeing as I've been saying for ages Lopez isn't very good.
Even though styles DO make fights, and its not always accuate to compare fights... I think tonight forever put an end to the Gamboa-Lopez debate. Gamboa would wipe his ass with JuanMa. Cant even really give Lopez much of a puncher's chance, cause he's not a true puncher. More a heavy handed guy. At BEST he would drop/hurt Gamboa, but Gamboa gets up and continues to beat his ass. But most likely scenario.... Gamboa would fuck him up in under 6 in dominate fashion.
Early stoppage. On the other hand, that was the type of fight that could have permanently damaged JuanMa if it had gone the full twelve. He was taking some hellacious shots in there.
Early stoppage my ass! JuanMa was getting his shit kicked in! Sure he was still throwing back(on instinct), but still.... he was taking far too many flush, damaging shots and was wobbling around and coulda gotten seriously hurt. And it wasnt like Ortiz-Berto where Vic came back and dropped Berto in the 6th. JuanMa couldnt hurt Salido.
I thought I pretty much covered all that in simpler terms, in the second sentence of my post. :warning:
Salido too tough and too strong. Plus Lopez face told the story when Salido kept walking through his best shots. You could see the discouragement.
Bob Arum dropped the ball.He knew Lopez had no defense,he should of just cashed him in and had him fight Gamboa.
Salido better not fail another drug test, but this version of him looked an awful lot like the version who battered Guerrero. Not a bad stoppage, but perhaps slightly early. Juanma had been looking weaker for a while. Hard to believe he took some of those shots. If Salido fails, I would ban his ass for life. I agree, serves Arum right.
Yeah, if they had stopped it 5 seconds earlier it would have been a good stoppage. He wasn't throwing back and was hurt.
:: If Salido fails a drug test, then....can we safely say he needs to sign for Golden Bay and get some protection??
