Dude, the definition of ignorance is representing something as fact when it's really speculation.

Unless of course you know 'Dana is encouraging it for sure".

I don't know whether he is or isn't, so it would be my opinion and not "for sure".

It's almost Dana's job to encourage fighters to hype fights. That's kind of the definition of promotions. That being said, it's usually pretty easy to see through the fake dislike. In this case, there is a lot of background pointing to a legit beef.

Jones is Danas new cash cow, and he wants to milk it for all its worth. I know it is Danas job is to promote fights, but sometimes I think he is a bit excessive.

Well, you keep saying Dana. I'll say the UFC. They do a fantastic job of promotion. You can take a look at 3 different UFC fights and see 3 different styles of promotion.

1) Rashad-Rampage-----Pit two of the best trash talkers against each other on TUF. Even without legitimate dislike, neither guy is going to let the other get the better of the trash talking. And it made for a great season of TUF which involved otherwise boring HW's.

2) Sonnen-Silva------Just put a microphone in front of Sonnen as often as possible and let him go. That fight did far better than it should have simply because Sonnen's gift for trash talk sold the fight.

3) Shields-GSP----- No trash talk. No real usable quotes. So they use one of the best MMA promotional videos ever with a theme of mutual respect and champ versus champ.

You can call if excessive, but I call it extremely successful and entertaining.

 

I call it brilliant and I'm not really a fan of the dude.

I think Phil Davis beats Rashad.

 

Great fight. Davis has a clear wrestling edge and Rashad has a clear striking advantage.

Personally I always pick the guy that can best dictate where the fight goes. I think Davis will be that guy.

I think Rashad's experience advantage will make it close however.

I think Shoddy is simply a better fighter AND more experienced. Davis is overhyped.

If not, then NO, Bob was not telling it like it is. He was telling it like he SPECULATES it is.

I have no doubt the UFC encourages fight promotion. That's what they are in the business of doing. That's telling it like it is.

 

I don't want to get into thus argument again. However, just realize that Dana is in his fighters ears a lot more than you may realize. Trust me on that.

 

Well, again, tell me how you know and I will trust you on that. Until then, it is 100% speculation that Dana was personally encouraging those texts from Rashad.

Again, I'm not saying Dana or any promoter is above pushing his fighters to promote a fight through verbal or written exchanges. But you don't know, anymore than I do, whether Dana or the UFC has anything to do with those texts.

Trust ME on that.

 

I'm not gonna name any names, but I have sources in the sport who confirm my story as of very recently. Not gonna try to change your mind, just posting my observations.

 

So you know someone who knows that Dana specifically encouraged Rashad to send those text.
