Which of these 5 fights stands out to you as the best and why.

I have picked these 5 fights because I have watched them over the past 2 days.

Mosley vs De La Hoya 1 - 17/06/2000

    Mosley vs Cotto - 10/11/2007

Pacquiao vs De La Hoya - 06/12/2008

    Margarito vs Mosley - 24/01/2009

    Cotto vs Pacquiao - 14/11/2009

I pick Pacquiao vs Cotto, with the reason being that Cotto was the biggest opponent that Pac had faced at the time and it was Pac's biggest test for sure, Cotto would be no easy pushover. The performance was truly brilliant on Pacs behalf, to beat a naturally bigger guy in the way he did and the combinations and the angles in which he threw his punches to land on Cotto and the footwork Pac showed throughout the fight was phenomenal.
Cotto showed great heart and desire to last the distance, but unfortunately could not hold out.

DLH-Mosley is easily the best fight, but the only one I have rewatched more than once is Manny-Cotto

Mosley/Oscar. A great, high level... and most importantly, competitive fight.

Mosley-DLH was the "best", in terms of back n forth action, and significance.

My FAVORITE fight to watch outta them is definitely Mosley-Margarito. Nicest guy in the sport beating the living shit outta the biggest piece of shit in the sport = cant beat it!

DLH-Mosley. Highest standard, most competitive fight, most significant at the time, etc. That was a great fight.

Cotto Pacquiao was the most exciting, no doubt. So that's my pick.

De La Hoya-Mosley was very competitive and featured both in their primes. So it's a close second.

I was a huge DLH supporter back then, and for the first 5 rounds, I thought he had Shane 4-1, but I had money on DLH and I haven't seen the fight in years. Time for a rewind.

I had De La Hoya winning 5-1 after the first 6 and then Shane sweeping the last 6.

That was my scoring. Unquestionably, its the best fight listed. I have it on a disc with the rematch and still dust it off occasionally. Im a De La Hoya fan and he lost admirably. It was Mosleys finest hour.

    Mosley vs Oscar I

It was both a fitting addendum to the sham of a "Superfight" that was Oscar vs Tito and the perfect preface to the crock of shit merry-go-round that 147 has been since.

If Oscar fought Tito the way he fought Mosley the former would have been a CLASSIC fight. So the greatness or lack thereof of both fights rests solely upon De La Hoya's tactics.

ODH/Mosley I is clearly the best fight of those five, based on how competitive it was: both fighters were in their primes, both fighters performed close to their best (ODH as per usual could've benefited from using his jab more).

It takes a special kind of nice guy to knowingly use PEDs going into a fight with a childhood friend...the same one who gave him his shot at stardom. Classy guy, that Mosley.

    Mosley-De La Hoya 1.

Two terrific p4p fighters at/near the top of their game, a very good and competitive fight, fair decision. Oscar didn't use the best game-plan, but he looked terrific physically and very sharp. Mosley just happened to fight even better.

I'm kind of surprised DLH never touched PEDs- at least not that we know of, and if he did, it sure as hell never showed on his physique or helped his stamina. DLH on a good cutting cycle and a regimen of EPO would've been a beast.

same here or certainly something to that effect. Oscar controlling (if not dominating) the first half of the fight, Shane dominating the second half to squeeze it out.

I think ODH did NOT use PEDs, which makes you wonder how great he would've been if he had, considering many of the guys he fought were using them.

I really wish ODH/PBF II had happened - the fact it didn't just another example of what a bitch PBF is. And yes, I know ODH avoided many rematches too so don't bother responding with that because it doesn't change the fact that PBF could've made a shit-load of money rematching ODH, the first fight was close enough to warrant a rematch, and yet PBF had no interest in it, and we all know it's because knowing he barely eeked out the win in the first fight, there was a big potential for him to lose the rematch.

Floyd/Oscar wasn't close at all, it was a 9-3ish type fight. You must be one of the many casual fans who joined the dunces at HBO in wondering why Oscar abandoned his jab.
