Just read this. What the hell. He was fighting at home against a 32 years old guy with a 15-3 record against very mediocre opposition and loses a decision. Andrade´s only losses so far have come against top 5 guys and he has beaten better fighters than Pryor Jr. Shocked.
They are both 32 :: But yeah, gotta admit I was pretty surprised about that. Andrade must be far scrubbier than any of us realised, unless he had a really, really bad night.
You know what I mean, he´s not a young guy like Chavez Jr. or Vasquez Jr. that you expect him to make that kind of a leap. He´s more like a Hearns Jr.
Andrade looked like shit... but even at that, I still found it tough to give Pryor Jr more than three rounds in the fight. I had even written my recap on the premise that Andrade won a decision in a sluggish performance... then had to reverse course once the scores were announced. That said, even if he won his best days (whatever those were) are well past him. Furthermore, Pryor Jr is NOT his father, not in the slightest. Beyond the courage that it takes to be a prize fighter, kid doesn't have an ounce of bravery in him. Some call his performance "smart" (I guess so since he won), but I wouldn't be disappointed if I never again saw him on TV.
Pryor hit him with telegraphed rights sent via Western Union, and hit Andrade flush with about 75 percent of them. Andrade looked so bad, he was ridiculous and did not resemble a professional fighter as he could not get out of the way of an old woman's punch..he was that bad. When was the last time you saw a fighter turning his back repeatedly like Pryor did when this joker got him against the ropes? That was a terrible fight as at no time did Andrade attempt to get out of the way of any punches, and Pryor kept ducking, turning his head away, holding and turning his back.
Andrade has eaten clean shots throughout the entire course of his career; and now the punches have caught up with the tough guy as he is but a shadow of the fighter that went 12 with Kessler. Andrade needs to think about hanging them up as he lost to a guy that is about as good as an Open Golden Gloves fighter on a city level. I will venture to say that he will continue to soldier on as boxing is the only thing he knows, but he will take some bad beatings and is now a trial horse fighter.
:: With Andrade, maybe he is one of those guys that had such an AWFUL defense that he's taken so many shots and they've just caught up with him etc.
He was NEVER that Good to Begin w/... Very NICE Guy, HONEST Fighter, yet BARELY World Class Level, in the Scheme of Things...Andrade is Known for Being SCHOOLED by Kessler, the Controversial 1st Fight w/Bute (Even Though Bute was ALSO Schooling him Until the Very End of the Bout) & the KO LOSS to Bute in the RE... @ BEST, Andrade's a Super Middleweight Margarita... REED:kidcool:
Like REED Said "AT BEST, Andrade's a Super Middleweight Margarita"....While Margarita Is/Was Better, they're Still Birds of a FEATHER, so to Speak... REED:hammert:
