Just checked the bookies online on the odds for Haye to KO Wlad in 1 minute - 16/1 to 18/1 are the prices I got. Do you think this is a real possibility of happening??
He could be dropped in 30 seconds, then dropped again in another 30 seconds and that could be that....:giggle:
Hayes ONLY Chance is if he catches Wlad cold in the first two rounds. That is literally it, might be worth a bet but it is highly unlikely
For all of Wlad's flaws, proven and unproven, he's never been stopped in those circumstances. The bookies are just trying to cash in on the "Wlad has been stopped, Haye could stop him at any-time" nonsense that is being spouted in the press. They know that the Steve Bunces of this world have an effect on people, as does Haye himself, so they see no reason to not try and cash in on it.
Yep. It's like when Coral made us favourites for the playoffs a week ago, they knew we weren't in them, they were just cashing in on Sun readers
Of course not. He'll do an Ibragimov, lean this way and that, and hope Wlad gets anxious, which he won't, primarily because Wlad hasn't made the mistake of promising fireworks. Haye has goofed badly by promising to do this and do that and do the other. Wlad on the other hand has basically, as of this morning, stated that boxing is not Russian Roulette, and that all he has to do is box and wait.
Its indicative of Hayes mentality and outlook on things: he thinks that Valuev, Vitali, Wlad, Povetkin etc are all peas in a pod. Its, and I apologise for saying so, but its very British/American. When a guy comes out and says "I have never lost to an Eastern European" , that comment should be met with the same derision as if Wladimir had said "I have not lost to somebody with corn-rows".# The notion that these guys are some sort of uniform automatons with identical styles is simply farcical.
18/1 is a terrible price on that. Bwin will give you 40-1 through each of the first 3 rounds. You could cover the whole first 6 minutes cheaper.
Lol. I actually would rather put my hard earned cash on povetkin stopping wlad than Haye. The only outcome in wlad v Haye, I see and many others, is wlad by stoppage.
It's a pain in the arse, but if you shop around the different bookies for the best single round prices you can end up with better than 2-1 on Wlad by stoppage. Crazy price.
No, I meant Brewsters hair went back to the natural look for the rematch. :: I had a similar discussion with Jake years ago about word that Abdullaev would be too strong for Cotto if they ever fought etc....I was, in my relative inexperience, buying somewhat into the notion that Abdullaev was another Tszyu, came from a similar background, similar part of the World, blah blah blah....and that Abdullaev had "handled him" before. The reality of course was that Abdullaev had none of the guile, expertise or skill of Tsyzu, in fact he bore no pugilistic resemblance at all, and his "handling" of Cotto was in fact a narrow Olympic decision which could have gone either way.
I already have. I'm basically mortgaging myself up to the hilt in the firmest possible belief that Wlad wins by KO. I snapped up 9/4 about six months ago, which is like buying money so far as I can tell. MTF
I didn't think twice about your 'cornrow' analogy which is what made SteveDave's post so good, especially with the picture. Abdulaev was a better (certainly more accomplished) amateur than Tszyu, had the same type of physicality style of moving forward and imposing his will, and I thought he beat Cotto pretty clearly. Hadn't he beaten Cotto more than once? Anyway, Tszyu's style is different than Abdulaev's and I agree with the tired sentiment (stereotyping fighters from regions without distinctions) that you criticized about Haye.
Cheers Mike, yeah, steve_dave was quick there- I knew Brewster didn't have rows but I couldn't remember which fight for........so I took a guess and steve_dave punished me for it. Haye is just chancing his arm with this "I never lose to Eastern European Styles".....its a load of old tosh, right up there with B-Hop and his "Slick Inner City Styles"....I suppose Jermaine was clunky as he came from Arkansas
i heard i can get 212 to 1 that Wlad craps in his trunks and some drips down his left leg within the first 4mins:NotThink:
Nah I think he got good odds, but they were 2 days old odds, every passing day and Haye refuses to shake hands and Haye is accusing people of putting shoulder pads down their underpants, the odds lengthen a little bit. I've never seen a case like Haye. He's like a kid who is angry that other kids are having fun at HIS birthday party.:sream: He'd just as soon send them home and have no party in the first place. Having fun. AT HIS FUCKING PARTY!!! THE LIBERTY!!!
