Manny is on the sauce imo

he has jumped ridiculous weight classes, stayed just as lean and retained all speed and power

plus, when guys take HGH etc. they get that weird looking head like Manny has now, the jaw looks strange and his head.

The difference is Canseco put his name out there. If you don't have a source ANYONE could have created this rumor because they don't have to take reponsibility for whats said.

Yep pac is the only pro boxer that can beat the drug tests. None of the others can or want to.

    Let it go guys.
Manny is currently the best fighter in the world, PBF is scared to fight him, & history will reflect this. The sooner you come to terms with the situation, the better it will be for you in the long run.

I can kindof picture future debates to this topic..

    manny was juicing!

    did he test positive ?
    no

did he say he was taking them ?
    no

did a named source ever claim he was taking them ?
    no

but you're sure he was juicing ?
    yes

    why?
because that Floyd Merryweather guy who was too scared to fight him said so.

ahhh, i see, makes perfect sense.

Everything that sport at an elite level has been teaching us for years now. Without evidence there's no evidence. But it has to be on your radar when the impossible is all of a sudden possible.

    For sure.

I'm not sure about the impossible part though. Was Henry Armstrong ahead of the entire world and using PED's before they were known about?

There is at least some precedence for what Manny has achieved.

I'm not suggesting Manny isn't incredible, or is even juicing. Just has to be something you consider.

There was precedence for big homerun totals too.

What you're saying is fair enough Steve, I just think the point some of the other guys are making is without evidence, none of this really matters.

When Pacquiao retires this speculation won't mean anything, it will have zero affect on his legacy, just like steroid rumours have zero effect on guys like Leonard's legacy.

He certainly could be, no question.

If he ever tests positive very few people will be genuinely surprised.

It just seems a waste of time speculating when there isn't a shred of evidence and the majority of people bringing the issue up have an agenda.

I don't claim to be an expert in the area, nor do I know everything about steroids, but I can say with 100% accuracy a few things about them. Anabolic ones, that it.

First, there are different formulations of them for different purposes. There are some anabolic steroids that are generally known to produce more a more "cut" look, and some that are traditionally just used for huge size increases. It is not atypical for users to "stack" several different types of anabolic steroids. which simply means they use them together in one cycle. Unless you want to have permanent problems, you would always want to do X weeks on, x weeks off. This is cycling.

Some steroids are synthetic in that they were (typically) derived from testosterone, but they are chemically different and function differently in the body (like Winstrol). Testosterone is probably the most well known and longest used anabolic steroid, and yes, it's completely natural since it is found in both male and female humans in varying quantities. This is why people tend to put on more muscle at puberty - higher natural testosterone level. It is why some athletes just plain have it easier when trying to gain muscle, and other people, though in good overall condition, may appear to have little muscle definition or mass. If you are a man with really low testosterone levels, you can lift weights like a banshee and you will see very small gains.

"Doing steroids" may be as simple as taking testosterone dissolved in oils and injecting it into your muscles, where it will release over time, thus making the daily dose a bit more even. Just upping your testosterone alone is enough to achieve SIGNIFICANT muscle gains over a period of 4-12 weeks. If you choose the right substances, and then have a really regimented diet & exercise program, you can achieve bulk, strength, "cut" muscles, or just about anything else you want. I can tell you to a certainty that if you mix in cardio work with anaerobic work, you can cut fat fast at the same time you gain muscle, and you will not look "huge", you will just look like you are in much better condition.

For someone like Pac (or any pro boxer) with nutritionists and other helpers available to strictly manage every aspect of your physical health, you could EASILY use anabolic steroids to ensure that as the boxer moves up in weight divisions they make just about 100% of that weight gain MUSCLE. This would differ from someone like JMM moving up naturally, and thus showing some belly fat, some slowdown, and other side effects you would normally expect. Felix Trinidad is another good example of moving up naturally - there are usually pronounced downsides to this. That is why in the past it has been so hard to do effectively.

If I were Pac's "nutritionist" or "doctor" (the guy who carries around a lot of clean IM needles), I think I could get him to the point of considerable strength gains, muscle gains, and minimal fat gains as he moves up 10-40 pounds. The end product would be one fast, lean, strong motherfucker. You DON'T just weightlift. You use the effects of these drugs to gain fast, flexible, strong muscle as you train. I think most people just don't understand what an array of substances are out there for just about anyone, and how varied their effects can be. For those that claim Manny never failed a drug test, that is of course a good point. But I would simply ask this - how would someone who does IM injections of multiple anabolic steroids, and perhaps even does some oral meds, too get caught when they can use formulations that make detection times fall to just weeks?

So you use the longer acting stuff in the beginning of training, slowly cross over to the short-acting stuff, and cease 3 weeks before the known drug test date. Honestly, people, who (other than Vargas I guess) is too dumb to be able to do this? Especially in cases where you have a room full of "doctors" planning out your "supplement" schedule?

Look at this for a guide to detection times:
    http://www.elitefitness.com/forum/anabolic-steroids/steriod-half-life-detection-times-583758.html

Bottom line people: IF YOU KNOW WHEN THE DRUG TEST IS, YOU WILL ALWAYS PASS IT. Please keep that in mind.

I don't know a lot about HGH, but I can see it is becoming much more popular and that is usually because of RESULTS. So add that in to the equation, along with PED's that raise your red blood cell count and thus give you better oxygen capacity & stamina, and what do you get? Without random blood tests, you get the recipe for a virtually unbeatable athlete. The only thing you need going in is someone who ALREADY is skilled enough to break into that elite level. You can't make a turd into gold. But you can most definitely turn a B or B+ fighter into something better. Much better.

I will end this already too long post by saying that I am friends with a fellow who used to wrestle in the WWF during its heyday. He called himself a "jobber"; those were guys who traveled all over the place to be opponents for the elite wrestlers. There job was to lose, but lose well. He got to meet everybody - Hulk Hogan, Macho Man, the Road Warriors, and a plethora of others. He has a wall full of pictures with him & all these famous guys from the past. So we are talking 1980s here. He said EVERYONE he worked with used anabolic steroids (including himself). So again I would ask - if these substances were widely available and widely used 30 years ago... what do you think is going on with today's pro athlete? These things have been studied and refined now for decades, and I can tell you again from personal knowledge that there are many drugs available today which will really help to diminish any side effects that these drugs have to the point of being perfectly manageable. There are anti-estrogen drugs, drugs to prevent receding hair line in testosterone users, drugs to keep your testicle from shrinking, you name it, it is out there.

This is why I am so down on pro sports as a whole, and especially boxing. If the governing bodies (whoever they may be) do not get serious about this (and I mean random blood tests for everybody, for everything), WHY WOULDN'T A PRO FIGHTER USE THEM? What possible reason, other then a morality-based one, could you ever give to someone aspiring to be a champion boxer NOT to use PED's? Even the moral issue becomes cloudy when 99% of your opponents are using.

A perfect system is unattainable, but a GOOD system that catches most of these guys IS possible, and until it is put into place you just have to believe that some of these unnatural physical oddities are just that - unnatural.

And then you have legit all-time greats like Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens that can't even show their faces in public anymore.

But I agree from one perspective... I consider Pacquiao one of the very greatest fighters ever, and if the allegations don't go beyond where they are now, that won't change.

Still, say there's a gun to my head, and I have to correctly guess whether or not he's juiced. I'm saying yes, no question.

There is evidence, though. The shape of his head has changed. He hasn't lost a step as he was literally soared through weight classes. A guy that, in 2005, wasn't big and strong enough to beat Erik Morales at 130 has gained a ton of weight and is dominating welters.

Clemons and Bonds were old men that were still performing great. As was McGuire and others. Pac is a young man, who started fighting as a baby.

My thing is that it takes away from boxing to insist he is on Steriods. Especially without a reason. No proof, never failed a test, nothing. At least if there was some consistency out there with other fighters i could understand. You know consistency like McGuire and Bonds. Both were hitting home runs like crazy. But nobody is doing what pac is doing. NOBODY. And its just hard to believe some guy from the Philippines is the only one using these undetectable super peds that are making him the greatest fighter ever and nobody else is trying it.

The shape of his head has no changed. He is heaver. when you weigh 122 pounds or 130 pounds, your head his smaller because your face is sucked in like a skeleton. His face has now filled out. He has ALWAYS had a big head.

Cool. I don't know either way, but I'm leaning towards yes. Honestly, any reposnse to Floyd's drug demands other than "How dare you, fuck you, I'm clean - give me the fucking test, you cunt" would lead me in the same direction. I can't speak for anyone else.

Christ, Boxing is an individual sport where if you are lucky you have 2 good fighters in the ring at any given time. The baseball analogy is wack. A guy can hit 75 runs and is a legend, and another guy can hit 73 runs and be a legend. In boxing, that 2 runs is the difference between an ATG and a BUM.

You have to be extraordinarily blind or naive to not be doubting Pac at this point..
