It was better than I thought but I didn't have too high of an expectation going in. It was FUNNIER than expected and that counts for a lot. The acting was pretty good, especially Thor and Loki. Portman looked hot for some reason. I usually don't find her attractive at all. The storyline sucked harded than the combined PSI of all of Jenna Jameson's movies.
I thought Thor's manner of speaking & voice were reminiscent of some the voices used by Ron Burgundy.
So...do you think Chris Hemsworth was going for a 70s news broadcaster satire, or do you think Will Ferrell was trying to sound pompous, self-absorbed, and windy---as an Asgardian Prince would likely be?::
Id say Burgundy was going for the Asgaard Prince more than the other way round, but even so, Hemsworth sounded camp, IMO ::
Just came back from seeing this and thought it was done really well. Like someone else said, the acting was surprisingly good. Thor, Loki, and King Laufey were all really cool characters. I could've sworn that was Jason Segal from How I Met Your Mother as one of Thor's friends, but looked it up and I guess it wasn't.
When the agent sees Thor's friends walking through the town, what does he say? I remember him saying "I see Jackie Chan and Xena" but forgot the other one he said. That line made me crack up.
Robin Hood? I didn't stay in the theater for the scene after the credits. Here it is on YouTube, but the dolts who recorded it are talking all through it. Still, better than nothing... http://youtu.be/5oW5y3nu_Hw
