Whereever you rank him, it must be ahead of Duran. I know it won't be, people will say Duran deserves to be ranked so high because of blah, blah, and blah. But when you look at Hopkins and use the same blahs, I'm guessing he surpasses Duran in all of them.

    Fuck Duran.

Why aren't the same questions being asked of Hopkins as are being asked of Pacquiao??

Hopkins is one of the 5 best fighters in my lifetime in my opinion.

I hate the dude with a passion outside the ring. From the racist comments to degrading Donovan McNabb to allegedly saying young black men should go to prison rather than getting an education, he just gnaws at my nerves.

But inside the ring the dude is a bag full of subtleties and nuances that are an absolute pleasure to watch.

The wins against very good fighters like Tarver, Wright, Pavlik and Pascal while over 40 is unequaled in modern boxing history. What those wins are worth in an overall career ranking is subjective. But when you combine it with the 20 fight run as MW Champion, it's tough not to throw his name around with the best of all time.

I, like you, have absolutely no idea.

Manny is SUSPECTED yet still considered the top fighter in the world. So go ahead and SUSPECT Hopkins, but rank him as well. That would be my advice.

Sure. He did, after all, win. But it is my firm belief that boxing is one bust, one investigation, one bitter promoter, one ripped-off fighter etc from a major expose that rips the game apart and butchers its credibility.

I can see him perhaps winning vs. Lesnevich and Flowers, and that is it.

Ignoring knowledge and indulging in echolocation.
Dick sucking boxing editorialists are hardly John Pilger my friend,.. the bomb should have exploded once Arum made the mistake of blowing the whistle on his former 'deal' with De La Hoya and the NSAC,.. Forum babies would rather plat the horse hair of thier super-hero figurines, and these flashes of rage exhibited from team Pacquiao and Bernard Hopkins will merely be dismissed as 'Here we go again, dis shit is gettin old' ,...

You know this Irishman, you know the way it works.

Yep. Still, thats the way it worked in Baseball too.

I'll tell you a story....in Donegal, not so long ago, the Police conspired to plant cocaine and plastic explosives, then "discover" them, and all get promotions and mad credit.

Plan was working fine. They had a guy in jail for the coke, mad press love for the explosives find.......

Guess who gave the game away???

At least top 20 all time, no doubt.

The funny thing is I give him far, far more credit for beating guys like Pascal at age 46 than I do for Tito.

It was impressively 1 sided, but I don't think he should get that much credit for beating Tito. He should have beaten Tito, he was bigger, stronger, tougher, more skilled, more clever, and just a huge amount better.

It's literally INSANE that Tito was a 3 to 1 favourite.

The level he can fight at now age 46 defies logic, and is truly impressive.

That is impossible as Hopkins never fought 15 rounds.

Was that the point he was trying to make...? Since Hopkins didn't fight 15 rounds..he can't be in the TOP 40 boxers of all time?? :bangh:

He doesn't have a point. Basically anybody who's not one of his personal favorites can't compete.

It seems you keyboard experts have an issue with fights being fought at 12 rounds.

I will suggest you lobby the sanctioning bodies then.

When you do that (which I am rather dubious that you will) provide a list of your boxing credentials.:fightme:

Pernell Whitaker must not be an all time TOP 40 great either because he didn't fight 15 rounds...he mighta been schedule for 15 but never actually fought 15 rounds....THAT BUM.....

As if an extra 3 rounds would have made a different against a fighter like Hopkins.....

And for Monzon vs. Hopkins...i never cared for one of them...and the other one I vigorously detest..:goingmad:but Hopkins would kick Monzon ass...straight up son...what with that...? Bringing....I got cred...
