Carlos would have his moments, and like Whiskey said might give Norris some rough moments, but for the most part Terry's speed and combo punching would carry the day.
Carlos was a proven and hardened 15 round fighter, while Terry was a 12 round fighter; major problem here, folks. The longer the fight went on, the stronger Palomino became. Palomino KO 13 as all of that bouncing would have tired Norris' legs out and made him a sitting duck for those hooks under and over.
god, that 15-12 thing is so ridiculous Yeah, it's Norris's fault that the 15 rounder didnt exist when he was fighting, so that means there's no way he could possibly box 3 more rounds fucking idiotic and illogical anyway, I'd take Carlos Palomino in a fucking heartbeat here, not because of 15 versus 12 (because that is retarded) but because he was tough as hell and better than all of the 154 pounders Norris ever beat
Norris did beat a prime Jorge Castro by a wide margin. Castro wasnt the same skill level as Palimino I know, but he was a bigger and stronger man, and tough as nails. Who did Palimino beat who was even remotely CLOSE to Terry's level? He had a number of solid wins, but his career defining fight was probably the LOSS to Benitez. People give him credit for giving El Radar tough moments, but in the end Benitez won by a clear margin. Granted, Norris didnt have the defense, or smarts of Benitez. But he DID have more handspeed, and better firepower. He beats Palimino. BTW - I think its a CRIME that Palimino is in the HOF, but Donald Curry isnt. Curry accomplished a HELLUVA lot more than Palimino, and was a much better fighter.
Palmomino isnt even close to being the worst fighter in the hall of fame... he definitely doesn't belong there, but there are at least two dozen guys who deserve it even less This fight is at 149, not 154... Palomino was about nine thousand times more skilled and accomplished than Jorge Castro (who SUCKED, for the record) What is SImon Brown's best win? Blocker? Armando Muniz was a better fighter than Maurice Blocker, hands down... Simon Brown was washed up and out of his best weight class when he knocked out Terry Norris... I have never seen a guy get a free pass for more often for such an amazing defeat than Norris does for that one... he also gets loads of credit for carefully decisioning Brown in a rematch... If Brown were really good when Norris fought him, if he were a really good Junior Middleweight, then it would make sense... Simon Brown was NOT a good junior middleweight, and he was pretty much the same level of welterweight as Carlos Palomino... I'm assuming Carlos Palomino isn't a faded former titlist coming up to another division in this match-up... that would make him a first among Norris's competition If Norris were around today, there would be threads every month about what a chickenshit spot-picker he is, about how all of his opponents are either A) washed up guys who were good a long time ago at a lower weight or B) guys nobody has ever heard of ... It is absolutely nuts that a guy who was so clearly an amazingly vulnerable fighter with hideous opposition is so romanticised today as if he was something special... I have never seen a guy get more credit for doing less than Terry Norris If a washed up Brown could floor Terry Norris multiple times and stop him at 154... there is no reason to think that a prime Carlos Palomino (every bit as good a fighter as Brown) jumping up a mere two pounds in weight couldn't also tough it out and get to Norris and stop him
