No. I'm a bigger Mayweather fan, BY FAR, in terms of "the fighter". But I distinguish my "fandom" for a fighting talent from my liking of a person's character. I like Shane more as a human being, I prefer Floyd as a fighter. Mickey Ward is perhaps my favourite personality in boxing history...but as a fighter a crazy as bat shit guy like Tyson is 1 million times more appealing.
If Mosley ends up with brain damage, it will be his trainer's fault. He had to take extra shots which he didn't want to.
Hold up... Are you now saying you never said you were a bigger fan of Mosley than Mayweather? Cut the "fighter" vs "person" crap. You damn well know that's not how you stated it at the time we had the conversation over a year ago. :: I know EXACTLY where you live now.
hahaha...Love the "Waffle House" shit. I'm consistent. Obviously I'm a bigger fan of Floyd, the fighter, when I've said forever that he's much better than Shane...and that Shane was/is overrated. But I prefer Shane more as a person. He's more likable. I don't particularly care for Floyd.
but does Shane actually say "you gotta stop the fight" like the subtitle says? anyone hear those words?
dude...... :kick: His fighter COULDN'T respond to that SHIT. That's the point. You don't train a Lion to fight like an Antelope. That's defeat before the fight even starts..
Part of me thinks Naseem shoud have stopped it. Because Making Mosley quit would be a plus for pacquiao since he didn't get the KO. Making somebody quit is worst I think. You have to understand the realationship between Shane and Richardson. I don't think Richardson would have hesitated to stop it if he saw that Shane was in trouble. Shane was losing the fight but was not in a war to say he was in trouble. I honestly think that pacquiao wasnt' 100% that night. For whatever reason he seemed sluggish. I think that allowed Shane to stay at bay for 12 rounds. Maybe that's why Richardson felt Shane could see round 12 without taking major damage.
Yeah Naseem knew shane was bitching up. He was trying to talk some sense into him. That video gives me goose bumps
yeah sure, I guess Showtime would put any words in Mosley mouth, just to raise their rating, and not being worried at all about a potential lawsuit.
:bears: Precisely. Everyone knew what Shane's best chance was and fucking well wasn't that :: Although who knows if he would have even had the guts to really try and KO Pacquiao in the early rounds.
No way he had the guts to do that. Although I disagree totally that his best shot was to go for the early KO. That would have been his best shot at an early KO loss perhaps. His best chance was to catch Pacquaio coming in. Manny was having none of it.
It worked when? Shane lost every single round, including the round he "knocked down" Pacquiao. Shane had to go in there and throw every fucking punch he could and Pac's smaller frame and hope he could hurt him. We all knew that the longer the fight went the more hopeless Shane's chances would become..
First two rounds it looked to be decent. And no, that would've been a horrible strategy. He wouldn't have been able to find Pac, he would've eaten a ton of counters(like the one that floored him) and he would've tired out quickly. He was clearly trying to set him up for one big punch like he landed against Floyd, but he was pretty much shell shocked and threw nothing. Can't really help that, Mosely was just useless in there.
No shit. I could understand if that was after 5 rounds, but deep in a fight hopelessly behind, hurt and tired and begging to quit I'd gladly allow it.
