Pick away bitches. This is a fun card. There should be some good action. And it's time to see what Pettis is all about.

The guys in the final are the right guys, both of these guys are clearly the best in the house and by a pretty wide margin. I think it's going to be a good fight.

I will PM you my picks so Godfather doesn't steal them.

Tony really impressed me in his TKO win over Charlie. The first KO I thought was a bit fluky just because it was an upkick. And the second was a nice KO, but it looked more like a glancing uppercut, which made it seem more like the other guy just couldn't take a punch very well. But against Charlie he looked really great. His offense isn't amazing, but he has good pressure, great defense, rarely gets punched in the face, and looks to have a strong chin and will out there. He really discouraged Charlie, who was supposedly the toughest guy in the house by picking him apart and breaking his will. Charlie seemed scared too in the 2nd and 3rd when Tony was literally walking through the few clean punches he was able to land.

I agree TLC, it was the first time watching the season where I felt I was watching some real talent. I think Tony is a real strong and talented fighter. Nijem is also a pretty skilled guy himself, these two should make for a fun fight.

Kingsbu vs Maldonado is the most pick em fight, and should also be the most entertaining.

Tim Credeur vs Ed Herman made me laugh, thought I was back in 2008 for a second.

Cope is the strangest fighter I've seen in a while, dude has BJ Penn esque takedown defense, but no other skills. The only thing he can do is stop himself from being taken down and being ineffective and tentative in the standup, he also has suspect chin which is probably why he fights like that. Dude would be better off taking a bunch of time to master BJJ and get good off his back so he'd at least have something going for him. Right now all he has is kicks and he never throws them.

Chuck seems like your generic tough guy they have every season, a la Mike Brown. But he's still probably better than Cope.

I was thinking the exact same thing about Cope last night. I disagree about mastering BJJ skills, though. I would love to see Cope get with an elite level stand up camp. If he could get Mauy Thai skills the kid would be a force. He has a tall frame for WW, if he had a crisp jab and killer leg kicks, Cope would be hard to deal with. His takedown defense would compliment Mauy Thai so well.

The thing with Cope is, he's been doing striking all of his life. He was a kickboxer coming into MMA. The dude just has a bad chin and poor mentality for striking. He looks like a guy who fights scared to get knocked out. If he has those things going against him, he should at least try to work on becoming a good grappler. He'd be good if he could score takedowns as well as having great TDD.

I knew nothing about his background. For fuck's sake, the guy has a kickboxing background????? How about throwing a kick, Cope? How about a punch?? You are right, he fights scared. I just assumed he never really trained in stand up. I think he's pretty much fucked now, I doubt he'll really improve at all.

For such a boring season, I'm really looking forward to the main event tomorrow.

    Two very good guys.

I have to say I think Tony is probably the best striker I've ever seen on TUF. Can you think of a better one?

He has very slick, polished, accurate striking. Far, far better than you're used to seeing in the house.

And Ramsey can just fight, and is a good wrestler.

It's a tough pick because we haven't seen Tony on the ground AT ALL, so we don't know how he'll fare against Ramsey's wrestling, and how easy he'll be to take down. But he's obviously light years better than Ramsey standing.

I want Ramsey to win, but I think Tony probably wins to be honest, unless his wrestling and TD defense sucks.

Cope is better than anyone gives him credit for. Very solid takedown defense, and pretty decent movement and accurate striking. He's obviously not great though or particularly tough. I'd say him Vs Chuck is basically a pick em, slight edge to Cope.

Chuck is definitely the generic tough guy. Cope is better, but Chuck has a legit chance of just out toughing him.

Ross Pearson is the closest, but no...I think Tony is the best. Especially defensively, his boxing guard is very good.

As for the last, I think he has a good chance out toughing him. Cope has GSP-esque fighting spirit and an equivalent chin. Even worse, he has a pretty bad chin. If he doesn't get over himself and start letting his hands and feet fly, Chuck will outman him.

I thought Amir Sadollah had nice striking, probably not the defense of Tony, though.

Can't wait for Pettis and Guida. Pettis is really a phenom. A legitimate TKD stylist is rare in MMA, only Makdessi although Makdessi uses a blend of Karate and TKD I can think of uses that style well. He throws some amazing strikes.

TKD, you have to be fucking kidding

I'm almost a black belt in TKD, and I can tell you Pettis' style and strikes bear no resemblance to TKD.

Also, good thing about Tony, he's got a great wrestling background, multiple time high school champ, D II champ and 3 time All-American, wrestled D I for a year too...so theoretically, his TDD should be good.

I can only really think of like the old time MMA when no one knew what they were doing, and didn't know how to defend from guard. Other than that, the only recent example I can think of is the last charge by Jon Jones against Shogun. He didn't KO him with the shots, but they were the shots the lead up to the stoppage.
