Nevada is the only state that WW wear 10oz Gloves. There is nothing non-standard about it. Infact 8oz is the standard for WW fights. As to you second retarded statement, why would Floyd care about a penalty for not making 147? Unless of course he planned on coming in bigger like he did to Marquez?
Yeah he asked for them and Manny said he wanted 8oz gloves and at 147 and Floyd agreed to it. Nice try zhonny.
The only thing I'm "Trying" to do is debate with someone who is as smart as a box of rocks and sounds like a broken record.
What exactly are you trying to debate. All your doing is what you normally do, which is try to make Floyd look bad no matter how far down you have to dig.
Floyd and G both wanted the fight in Vegas and at the time of the glove size requirement, and further at the point the glove size discussion took place, everyone assumed the fight would be in Vegas. Cowboys Stadium wasn't brought up until later on. Have a nearby adult point out where Vegas is on a map to you. You'll find it edifying. Why would Pacquiao care about a blood test? Because he's afraid of needles, thinks a couple of drops of blood 2 weeks out from the fight (that was the initial compromise offered by the Mayweathers and G) would weaken him, because NA NA NA he DOESN'T HAVE TO agree to them, and oh wait .. because he's a fucking cheating piece of shit who walked away from a $50m payday to fight JOSHUA FUCKING CLOTTEY () rather than take a drug test. As moronic as it was, Floyd had no reason to care about the 147 lb limit penalty, so he agreed to it. As relevant as it was, Pacquiao had a reason to care about the blood tests, so he refused to agree to it.
Pac is on PED's and I don't have to prove shit. Nobody moves up in weight as much as he's done and hits harder.
How is he hitting harder??... Other than a face first shot Hatton, he hasn't had a one punch KO against anybody...
Floyd wanted testing up to the day of the fight. He didn't just offer a 2 week cut off right off the bat. Pac agreed to it and suddenly it was off the table. Floyd would never fight a big strong welter like Clottey. Ever. Don't kid youself. His WW career is a joke full of tune ups and come backs.
This is incorrect. Floyd offered a 2 week cutoff and Pacquiao rejected it. See: http://www.fighthype.com/pages/content10156.html http://www.fighthype.com/pages/mayweather-pacquiao-negotiations-timeline-1.html#PART1B You appear to have very little knowledge of not only this issue, but the sport in general. I recommend you spend some time immersing yourself in boxing knowledge for a year or so before coming back and posting again. This will save you embarrassment, and the rest of us annoyance. LOL The strongest sign of a Pac hugger around here is the lionization of Clottey. It's as bad as when Irish tries to make Jeff Lacy into a worldbeater to boost Calzaghe's career. Worse, actually, since Lacy was undefeated and people actually thought he had a chance against Calzaghe. What were the odds on Pac/Clottey, again? But in your case, I can see giving you the benefit of the doubt - you don't know much about boxing, so you probably don't realize that Joshua Clottey isn't really very highly regarded. Definitely much less so than say, Shane Mosley (a big strong welter) when Floyd fought him.
Clottey was at least top 10 when Manny fought him. Not sure what you have against facing guys in the top 10 of your division. I'm not making him out to be anything he's not. He's solid and that is all there is to it. I've said it before and I will say it again, they are BOTH to blame. What pisses me off if Floyd fans act like he is a fucking saint, and can do no wrong. He is as mucht o blame as Pac. We are past the drug testing issues, so the fight should be made now right? The fact is as of today, one of them wants the fight, the other does not. I blame pac for initially not wanting to do the testing. I blame Floyd for the fight not happening NOW.
No, we aren't past the drug testing issues, because the requirement is random testing up until the day before the fight. Pacquiao has never agreed to that. When Arum said "we've agreed to Floyd's terms," he was as usual being dishonest and disingenuous - he was saying they agreed to a 14 day cutoff date, when Floyd had already said that was off the table 1 year earlier. And I guess since you're ok with fighting top 10 guys, you've never complained about Floyd fighting say, Baldomir (lineal champ at 147, which is a bit better than Clottey since Clottey held no titles at all iirc).
If you can look past the DQ loss and watch Clottey vs Baldomir there is no doubt who the better fighter of the two is. Use your eyes, not boxrec.
If you watch the Pacquiao-Clottey fight, you will see that he stood around doing nothing but covering up the entire fight, and was perfectly happy to lose without even trying. The guy is a fucking bum. Floyd Jr is a master of shutting down his opponent's punch output.. what do you think he would've done to Clottey, who never throws punches as it is?
You know, this Pac vs Floyd crap is so tiring to me. I feel like we have the same discusson every day. I just can't do it anymore. I extend an olive branch to you LoadedGloves and Rjjp4p, I'm over it. It's pretty crappy that it always degrades to name calling and insults. I know what your opinion on the situation is and you know what mine is, let's just leave it at that and be civil. This is not a discussion I enjoy at all. So let's keep it civil and I'll not post about these guys fighting or anything having to do with negotiations until a fight is actually made.
Trust me man, I do not think Clottey would beat Floyd, not even close. It's just good to face the guys around the top of your division. One other thing you probably would never have guessed. Floyd UD Pac if the fight comes off.
IMO, Floyd is just a better fighter. I give Manny a chance to catch him, but if it goes the distance it's Floyd UD.
and that's exactly why Floyd didn't need to fight these guy's like Cotto, Margarito, Clottey or Williams. Afterall, we all know Floyd would have won, it would have been a waste of everybodies time. Even Pac is a sure shutout for Money May, so why fight him ??
Nah..that's not the reason. Floyd fought for belts all the way up until he faced his target, De La Hoya, and then retired in his early 30s. Those guys were irrelevant on his first run up to 154lbs. They only became relevant after Floyd returned to face Hatton (after being called out) and by then Floyd was a semi-retired fighter. Of course revising history is a fun game to play and so you may continue...
Floyd at 140lbs certainly never fought the best, so his current m.o. was alreadyy in motion before the ODH fight. Mitchell at 147 was for a belt ??? Come on, it was a gimme fight, just like Bruselles, N'Dou and Gatti (yes I know it was for Gatti's belt ). And he became a semi-retired fighter only because he was waiting for the right opponent to cherry pick and those guy's were far too risky for him.
That's cool with me, I find it tiresome as well. I respect your objectivity on the matter, I honestly don't think the fight is a foregone conclusion for either guy and like everyone on both sides, I just want it to freaking happen..
