Just the latest i've been hearing & reading, but don't believe it yet until I hear it from both boxers. Khan needs to concentrate on Judah instead of fights next year. :kidcool:
Opportunist Floyd Mayweather....."Khan has been undefeated in his last 10 fights, he is coming after a spectacular KO of Zab Judah, he is young and fast and punches hard....I want to prove myself against the best. Cause that is what I do...you know "Opportunist" Floyd is all about the FANS...giving them what they want...WHAT?!!?! Yeah he got KOTFO by a complete bum, but he was young back then..he has learn and grow up fast..he is the best right now..Maidana rocked him and had him running for his life...but you know, things happen in a fight....you know I'm all about the fans and giving them the fight they want...."
I think he would lose heavily, but would have his moments. To hear Kell Brook's name mentioned as a possible opponent for Khan next year excites me.
Sure he'd have his moments. He'd have a nice ringwalk and that friendly Buffer bloke would say a few nice things about him. Then the fight would start... MTF
After Victor Ortiz...Mayweather will give the world what they want...another TUNE UP vs. Amir KHAN...."Best thing for boxing is for Mayweather to look like a KILLER against Ortiz and Khan. The Pacquiao fight would then be made without a doubt. There would be no where for either of them to hide."
I think floyd would genuinely have trouble early doors dealing with Khan's speed, but once settled, will get into his rhythm. That magic right hand will land at will when Khan comes in.
Mayweather would pick Khan apart unless Mayweather suddenly has a drastic decline overnight and Khan has an unworldly increase. Khan has like 1/10th the skills, adaptability, intelligence, etc...of Floyd.
Khan would be faced with a strange dilemma in this fight... How to deal with that Floyd guy punching him in the face like that
if khan beats judah impressively and another decent foe after that i suspect he'd be a viable pay per view opponent for mayweather jr next year. he does not interest me as much as ortiz and seems to have less of a chance to win due to his lack of punching power. also he would command more money than ortiz has, so that mayweather jr wouldnt get ALL of the money like he is this september.
Once Floyd figures Khan out and adjusts, he'll buttfuck him, but Khans speed will allow him to maybe nick a few rounds early doors
Unless Floyd slips and shows his age I can't see Khan having any measure of success against him. Sure Khan will throw flurries but if he's lucky one of four will land.
Doesn't Roach still train Amir Khan? Does anyone else here think that it is unlikely that Roach/Manny sit by while Khan takes on money Mayweather first? I suppose you could look at it as sort of a "lamb-to-the-slaughter" type of plan, with Roach trying to do some experiments with Khan in a mindset of using the knowledge to aid Manny. You cannot tell me Freddy "Juicey Juice" Roach spent all this time and personal effort shooting himself back into the limelight by "creating" Manny Pac (and he does like that limelight, people listen when he talks now) just to have a newcomer and minimally personally important fighter like Khan face PBF first? From what I have seen, Roach and Manny are extremeley tight - thick as thieves - and I don't think Manny would be happy at all to watch Roach bring up Khan to fight Floyd next year while Manny fights.... Marquez 4?? I think Khan/PBF never happens unless Floyd essentially demands it as the lead-up fight to a guaranteed, signed, Pac/Floyd right after. And even then, just the specter of Khan somehow winning makes that an unnecessarily financially risky plan. If Floyd is ostensibly going after Ortiz (in his own words in the Brian Kenny interview) because Ortiz is a southpaw, and is something of a prep for the Pac fight, then... what possible good does it do to face an orthodox, probably inferior fighter than Ortiz next? I think it's Pac after Ortiz, or it NEVER happens, period, case closed. People may see mild-mannered, shaky-handed Roach and maybe even soft-spoken Pac as not having big egos, but I think the exact opposite is true. I think they both swell with bloated egos, they are just less abrasive and more publicly savvy than most fighters/trainers (e.g. anyone named Mayweather). Or do some of you think this has no bearing? Can you really see Manny contentedly sitting there ringside while Khan takes on Floyd first, Khan having Roach in his corner? Roach would almost have a conflict of interest! His best bet would really be to see Khan lose admirably, and in the process try to feel out PBF close-up to aid Pac's coming fight plan.
So Floyd is already looking past not only Ortiz by also Manny. Nice. I hope he gets KO'd by quitter Ortiz.
