    Have at it.

I think it would be a GREAT fight. Both men would get bounced up and down as seems to be customary for an Ortiz fight.

Gimme Ortiz. Mexico triumphs over Puerto Rico in this one.

What a surprise, Floyd fans are hyping Ortiz.

Come on, he's had ONE fight at 147, against the weakest champion in recent memory. get the fuck out of here with this shit.

Beating undefeated Berto is as good as any Cotto performance at 147lbs.

Shane Mosley is a way better win that anything Ortiz ever did.

Nope, that's too much work. I just group all Floyd fans as one, so if Sly said it so did you.

    Nah..it's a wash.

Shane Mosley's a greater name than Berto and a very formidable opponent, sure. But Shane had already been beaten twice by Forrest and then twice by Wright...and Cotto only barely won that fight...some had Shane winning.

Berto was young, prime and undefeated. Ortiz beat him clearly although many rounds were competitive.

    It's a wash.

No one ever said that Baldomir was some GREAT fighter. All I merely ever said was that he was the true champ at the time.

James Braddock will never be seen on any ATG Heavyweight lists...but he was the guy the Joe Louis beat to win the title. He was CHAMP at the time.

It's an insult to ME actually, not to you. You should be happy that he gave you such a high compliment actually.

No, it's not ven close to a wash. Mosley is far more proven than Ortiz. We can't even have this discussion until Ortiz proves he can do more than just beat Berto. You're jumping the gun big time.

This is the problem. A fighter is young and prime with a title and he's suddenly green and unproven. A man is in his mid to late 30s with all manner of experience..and he's faded or shot! :giggle:

    Ya just can't win.

Ortiz has proven just as much as Margarito had, at the time Floyd move up to WW, more if you consider the legitimate belt he's won...yet fighting Baldomir instead of Margarito is seen as some sort of duck job by guys like yourself. :kick:

Should Floyd fight a past prime experienced dude instead?

Anyway we digress...Ortiz would beat today's Cotto IMO

Ortiz IS unproven at 147. He's had 1 fight at 147, so what if it was against Berto, he was so protected it's crazy.

How is he unproven when he went to war with Berto and won? Was Floyd "unproven" at 135lbs after his 2nd fight with Castillo? By your logic he was.

Sosa and Ndou fought an unproven dude it seems....

72 Year old+12-15 pounds past his best weight went 12 tough rounds vs. ORTIZ father........

Even you Floyd Mayweather nuthuggers don't believe that Ortiz would do anything more than fold up like a beach chair vs. a PRIME MIGUEL COTTO..

Maidana was for Ortiz what Torres was for Cotto....one guy past the TEST...the other quit like a bitch and saying he was sure weather he should be taking this type of punishment...

Ohhhhh you are talking about TODAy's Cotto...okay secretariat....Today's Cotto will have a lot problems making 147. If he can make the weight without killing himself....He will beat Ortiz....

Castillo was the man at 135, Berto was not. Are you really making this comparison?
