I hate Tom Hanks and so it's difficult for me to have an opinion on his best films. Your list seem reasonable I guess.

    Bruce Willis

    6th Sense
    Unbreakable
    Armageddon
    The Jackal
    Die Hard

Man, personally I think Hanks was best in 'Philadelphia'. Can you really omit a movie in which he won an Oscar for Best Actor?

I also forgot my absolute personal favorite Hanks move, "Road to Perdition". One of the underrated classics in my opinion.

I had Philadelphia on there, but bumped it in favor of The Green Mile. I guess it's all about personal taste. I think I might even put Catch Me If You Can or Sleepless in Seattle on there before Philadelphia.

Big was a bigger (no pun intended) omission I think, but what do you bump off? He's had a lot of good movies.

Rethinking it, I'd probably put Sleepless on there at 5 and bump Green Mile.

    6th Sense
    Pulp Fiction
    Unbreakable
    Sin City
    Story of Us

Another tough Bruce Willis omission is Twelve Monkeys. Same with Brad Pitt. Both have just had too many good movies to include it.

    Brad Pitt
    Legends of the Fall
    Fight Club
    A River Runs Through It
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
    Se7en

Notable omissions: Troy, Oceans, Inglourious Basterds, Interview with the Vampire, Meet Joe Black, Snatch, Sleepers, Babel

    Agreed. Best Tom Hanks movie.

    Philadelphia? Bullshit.

He got an Oscar because the liberal twats in Hollywood love non-establishment topics like homosexuality and aids. That's why fucking Sean Penn won for "Milk" and Heath Ledger almost won for Brokeback Mountain.

Philadelphia wasn't all that. Dude gets fired because he has Aids and wins a court case. The end.

I'm surprised you didn't put Scarface in this list. I thought that was a favourite among folks in here.

I would take out Mo Better Blues and insert Ricochet but otherwise a solid list.

No love for Man on Fire? I prefer that one over Devil in a Blue Dress?

Never found Taxi Driver to be enjoyable. I think I'd have Cape Fear on there somewhere and probably Raging Bull.

Man, I'm losing faith in you guys. Any list regarding Denzel Washington should absolutely start with 'Glory'. A great movie and an even better job by Denzel. His interaction with the other black soldiers is absolutely incredible to watch.

Pete Postlethwaite (my favourite actor of all-time). No set order...

In The Name Of The Father
    The Usual Suspects
    Last Of The Mohicans
    The Lost World: Jurassic Park
    Inception

Some real close shaves here --- honourable mentions to The Constant Gardener, Brassed Off, Romeo & Juliet, & Amistad.

    Great actor fo sho.

Tremendous in Usual Suspects and remarkably good in Jurassic park 2

"Peter, if you want me to run your little camping trip, there are two conditions: first, I'm in charge, and when I'm not around, Dieter is. All you have to do is sign the checks, tell us we're doing a good job, and open your case of scotch when we have a good day. Second condition: my fee? You can keep it. All I want in return for my services is the right to hunt one of the tyrannosaurs. A male, a buck only. How and when is my business. Now if you don't like either of those conditions, you're on your own. So go ahead, set up base camp right here, or in a swamp, or in the middle of a Rex nest for all I care. But I've been on too many safaris with rich dentists to listen to any more suicidal ideas, OK? "

I always remember that quote! That was his big scene, & he absolutely nailed it --- every turn of phrase, & high point of conviction. Roland Tembo, last of the philosopher hunters...
