It's not like that just happened yesterday, he's improved a lot over the last 12 years. It was in 1998.

In any case, MMA is more than just punching.

Winner is me! I had Tate by Sub. After the 3rd round I was wondering What the fuck I was thinking for making that pick then boom, she arm triangles her in the 4th.

Henderson would Look even WORSE on a Football Field...Probably COULDN'T Catch OR Throw a Ball to Save his Life...Probably Runs the 40yd Dash in 5.5 Seconds...

He'd Better Stick to Cagefighting, where he Can Get Away w/that Rudimentary, Non Athletic, Caveman Bullshit...

Come on Reed. Don't punish the MMA section just because Hanz is a trolling douche.

I just read an interesting tid bit about this fight that I don't think I realized before. Henderson actually had to drink a ton of water before the weigh-in in order to weigh-in above 206 pounds. If not, the fight would not have been sanctioned as a HW fight and wouldn't have happened.

I didn't realize that. I thought you could weigh anything under 265 and fight at HW. Apparently if either of the fighters is <=206 then the fight would be considered a LHW fight in which case Fedor would have been over the limit.

Most of you probably knew it already, but I didn't.

Apparently the 'Catch-Weight" has to be agreed upon with the commission before the weigh-in.

Love that elbow. I was just watching this fight again the other night. The one thing no one gives Anderson credit for is his endurance. He spent the majority of the fight underneath Sonnen, yet down the stretch, Silva was the far fresher fighter.

I agree. I think he's literally the only guy in MMA with subtle head movement and the ability to roll with punches. You see him doing it when training with guys in the TUF house too.

How else can you tell a guy is past it ???

It's when a guy puts up a string of weak performances and losses that you realize he is prime is gone, and you can look back to the fight where it started creeping in (ala Jones-Tarver I, Fedor - Arlovski) and say he's past his prime. Hindsight is 20/20, and yeah, guys tend to fall off pretty quick late in their careers, some REAL quick.
