wow this ref is shit. agbeko needs to retaliate. he is getting a free vasectomy tonight. he also needs to let the right hand go. is it injured?
criminal performance by russell mora. agbeko dumped his manager, don king didnt even show up for the fight. looks like they are putting the squeeze on him. he needs a KO
Mora is a fucking scumbag. That was a clean low blow and he counts it as a fucking knockdown. What a total cunt. Not to mention the other 20 borderline low blows, plus a few clean ones. Nonito would beat the fuck out of both these fighters, but now I'd love to see him knock Mares out cold because of the level of cheating on display tonight.
mares wont get the match with donaire because he is with golden boy. he made his bed and it got him the title. truly a shame agbeko didnt tee off with a big right hand to the cup in the middle rounds. that wouldve caused mares to think twice
4 point swing round. should have been a point deduction. clear round for agbeko so it shouldve been 10-8 for him, ended up being 10-8 the other way
Right.. I forgot Agbeko was ALSO winning the round. I love the ref watching the replay and still refusing to admit it was wrong.
I'm dumbfounded by what I just saw. The referee was obviously in somebody's pocket, or his family was kidnapped. I almost hope the later, so at least he has a good excuse for being so shitty. Disgusting! I still think that first knockdown was bullshit to. :shit:
Hmm.... <iframe width="560" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/X_FT_kc0wyY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Jesus Christ, he's like the official face of low blows. Is that his primary tactic and training regime do you think?
I like how he was already making excuses about landing low blows. "Sometimes you throw a hook and the other guy moves to defend it.............and you hit him low" haha! How about "Sometimes you do a quick pivot to the left, throw a hook from the floor and hit the other guy right in the center of the cup. Then you realize it's all good, because the referee is in your pocket and he will most likely call a knockdown or warn the other guy for pushing your head down, even though his arms came nowhere near your head, or you were just bullrushing him with your head down to begin with." :bears:
Fox can always find the most gawdy and insultingly tacky means of presenting information through a television program. The level of bad taste never ceases to amaze me. "This is like having two bowling balls dropped from 20 stories ON YOUR NUTSACK" (Cue the sound of lasers slashing through the air, with cheesy music) "Your stomach hurts, you are out of breath and your FUCKING NUTS ARE THROBBING" "It's bad enough to be hit with a legal punch, but it's far worse to be slugged in YOUR BALLS"
come on, bro, you are a TV guy you didn't find that production mind-numbingly stupid? the announcers voice, the constant use of the words nuts and balls? the cheesy sound effects and graphics?
:: Sorry, I had no idea you were talking about that vid. I hadn't watched it... I was wondering what the hell you were talking about. Just watched, it was almost as disgusting as that fight last night.
This was sad to watch...Mora should be banned from boxing for showing a sickening bias. I want to see an immediate rematch.

Can anyone confirm whether or not the first knock-down was even legitimate? Agbeko and his people didn't complain about it, but it looked like a slip to me. And you take that away, along with the obviously bull-shit knock-down in the 11th round, and Agbeko wins, imo. Either way, that referee is obviously paid off by G, which has fast become the most corrupt promotional out-fit, which is a bit like saying they're the most dishonest politician.
You know what's funny... Mora was actually half right here... While the punch was CLEARLY heading low, he did make a good point by saying he saw a punch hit the glove then hit him low. The punch did in fact hit Agbeko's glove prior to making contact. What he missed is how low Agbeko's glove was at that point of impact. The punch was low and the deflection forced it lower. Mora's incorrect take was the deflection on the glove forced a legal punch low. Which wasn't the case.
Thing is, even if Agbeko had deflected the punch from a legal place to one that's not legal, it still should not have counted as a knock-down. I'm not sure what the rules say about that, but in my mind, the fact it hit him low, whether he deflected it there or not, is the heart of the matter and why under no circumstances should it have been ruled a knock-down. I can understand not penalizing a fighter for a low-blow that was caused by the victim himself (a defelction). Either way, I see your point. The punch did seem to hit Agbeko's glove slightly, but as you point out, his glove is already below the belt. So it was deserving of penalty and a knock-down should not have been scored, for the reasons stated above.
I wholeheartedly disagree with this notion, that if you put a glove on a guy in the middle of a slip, it should be counted as a knockdown. I did not see Mares do a single goddamn thing to get credit for a knockdown the first time around..............except maybe get a touch in with his glove, which is ridiculous IMO. Either way, it's obvious Mora was intent on calling knockdowns no matter the situation. If Agbeko hit the canvas, a KD was going to be called.
