List some examples where fighers had done something to them that normally they do to others. For example

Bowe used to easily out jab people. Golota out jabbed him and it really threw him off.

Roid made a career of playing with his opponents and showing off to the crowd while toying with his helpless victims and Calzaghe did the same to him.

Ray Leonard made a career out of bullying guys until Duran beat him at it.

Gatti facing a bigger man in De La Hoya and getting his ass kicked. That was a year after the Gamache debacle.

Floyd didn't beat hatton on the inside, Cortez didn't let them fight on the inside.

I'd say Norwood got a taste of his own medicine against Gainer...although that was a condensed version of what this thread is about.

    Fight was at 147.

I understand your "point"....but there is also the reality that Hatton had a point taken off with no warning for a rabbit punch which never landed, as Floyd was leaning out of the ring. And if Cortez allowed Floyd to throat-bar Hatton with his forearm at will, then he should have allowed Hatton a similar degree of latitude.

One need not look any further than Cortez equally poor attempt to administrate Calzaghe vs Hopkins to realize that Cortez is either inept, or, more likely, fell prey to the corrupt nature of the fight-game via his financial insecurities a long time ago. In that fight, Hopkins was allowed to feign injury and hold at will. Cortez never took a point off.

You should be prepared to leave your dislike of Hatton to one side and consider the bigger picture. Hatton may have indulged in grappling, but Cortez was most selective that night. Most selective.
