Saw it tonight. Kinda disappointed. It started off strong, then got pretty blaahhh. All and all I found it to be a VERY poor man's version of Outbreak.

NOOO! I had such high hopes for this one.

Forgive me X but I must hope this is just the rating of a man with bad taste in a good film.

 

You should check out the trailer, it looks like a really good movie.

By the way checking out the user rates on IMDB a current score of 7.5 bodes well for X's opinion not being the norm.

On the other hand, the fact that score is only based on 37 reviews so far doesn't put the issue to rest yet.

 

Its not a bad movie, but overall it coulda been much better. Matt Damon's acting was sub par IMO. The only bright spot in the movie was Lawrence Fishburne.

Like I said...... poor man's version of Outbreak, which was a better movie in every aspect.

 

Is this the sequel to "Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes"?

 

I really wanted to see this movie and holy shit was it ever boring. I've seen disease shows on the discovery channel that were way more entertaining.

 

I liked outbreak.

In this forum I've noticed that you tend to trend towards preferring an earlier film over a more recent film based upon the same idea but with a different twist. So with that in mind I'll take your opinion with a "pinch" of salt (or "grain" of salt if you prefer).

 

Or a prequel to "I am Legend".

All thats doing is bringing forth more ways for people I dont want to hear from (friends, family, work) to pester me, LOL.

 

Saw this the other day and enjoyed it a lot. I can see why it might not be for everyone, but to compare it to Outbreak is a bit unfair. It has a similar theme but whereas Outbreak mostly took place in 1 town and therefore had an easier story to cover this was a world wide phenomenon that basically broke down exactly where and how 1 action nearly wiped out the whole planet.

 

Slow moving, but not bad I like it because it's a worldwide problem, in Outbreak from what I remember it was just a town/city problem, might be the entire USA don't remember. Regardless it was a decent movie.

OUTBREAK is easier to watch and very rewatchable.....I won't be watching CONTAGION again....EVER...
