There is a rumor out that Stewart will not train Cotto for the Margarito rematch. If this is true then Cotto loses to this cheater again.

Not sure if this was tweeted yet but I'm told Manny Steward will not be training Miguel Cotto for his fight with Antonio Margarito.

Agreed! It would be the horrible move from Cotto at this point.

Doesn't matter who trains Cotto. He has to be metally ready to box 12 rounds and refuse to engage. He cannot stand with Margarito for 12 rounds with his fragile effeminate self...

I hate Steward. The guy's a phony-bologne. The only bad news here (if there is any), is that Steward is the type to back out of a fight he's not sure he can win.

Supposedly it has everything to do with money, and nothing more than that. Waiting on call backs (though not expecting any), but Cotto's pulling up cheap in the late stages of his career.

This might be good news for Cotto. The last thing he needs is an irate Manny screaming at him at a stage of the fight when what he needs is cool calm collected people around him who are helping him.

Steward is getting to greedy and too crotchety in his old age and I didn't like the shift he put in in the Haye fight with Wlad.

Steward's mind is never off the audience and what the response/discussion will be of his, "training." In that sense, he's like Atlas. He's too wrapped up in himself and being right to be a good trainer.

Yup, it's a shame, but he has to move on and focus. I believe he can beat Cheatarito.

Unless Cotto gets Richardson or Roach, Stewart still is a much better option then this Santiago dude.

Sadly your probably right unless Cotto prepares the right way with a quality trainer.

Judging from the titles of Hex's last two threads you would think Cotto was dead and that Juanma retired.

Cotto still beats him I think. Though a change in trainer at this point probably isn't the best idea. But Dawson also parted ways with Steward, whom is not much of a trainer these days but more a commentator.

Cotto-Margarito 1 wasn't Hopkins-Trinidad. There ARE adjustments that Cotto can make. And Cotto was winning most of the fight even with Margarito's illegal hand wraps.

Cotto is just a better fighter IMO.

Steward in the corner won't make a difference either way. Cotto is a made fighter and Manny won't improve any aspect of his game at this point.

This really boils down to what Maragrito has left and whether he can handle the same shots Cotto landed on him the first time. Both guys have had ass kickings in the last couple years and it's bound to be a war no matter what happens. the only way it won't is if Miguel runs from Margarito.

The biggest roadblock Cotto has is what happens a few rounds in and he's nailed Margarito clean and he's still coming. Or...if he's nailed by Margarito and thinks to himself, "that shit hurts as much as the first time." That's what matters.

Steward in or out of the corner won't make a difference...Cotto's too far down the line for that.

By punching Margarito more often harder than cheato hits him back. He also needs to stay on his feet for twelve rounds. Lets hope cotto wins this time. I see Cotto gets much more symphaty than Marg. Most people will be rooting for Cotto.

Cotto is the bookies favorite at 8/15, with cheatarito at 7/4.
