Holyfield-Frazier and Lopez-Hamed would be two to sell your first born for.

Bruno Girard? Ha ha ha ! That guy fucking derailed Byron Mitchell. I remember it. Mitchell was not long off his come from behind KO of Liles, and he simply can't put the hurt on Girard.

McClellan vs Hearns is a nice one.

I think McClellan cleans Tommy's clock in that one.

I dunno about selling my firstborn...but I salivate over the thought of Holyfield-Frazier.

What a fight that would have been!! Incredible.

I wouldn't put Duran-PBF on a list of fights that are all but guranteed to be exciting, but it at least has the potential of a classic.

That said i believe both Ali-Tyson and Duran-Mayweather are more interesting on the "intrigue" level. Clashes of styles, personalties, etc.

What would happen in the ring i doubt would have much replay value though.

I've always thought Hopkins-Hagler would be more of a tactical fight, regardless of what Hopkins says about it being a war.

I know what you're getting at.
It may not be in the spirit of the thread to say it would be.
It's not likely to be a barn-burner as such.

However it's a fight I'd be really excited to see. The excitment for me would be in the anticipation of how the styles would clash & seeing whether it played out the way I'd imagine.

I'd say the same about PBF-Duran.

However I'm postive that Foreman-Tyson would fit any criteria of exciting you'd like to use.

    Word.

Strange to say this about a fight between two serious bangers...but the fact is that if they fought 100 times it would go the distance 100 times with Tyson winning 100 decisions.

If Tyson concentrated on the body i think it's possible he could get a KO.

Not necessarily. He didn't retreat into a shell with Ike. But Tyson is so much faster, more mobile, more fluid, more ambidextrous it's not even funny. And neither guy would seriously hurt the other due to the chins.

Ike had nowhere near the power of Tyson or Lennox Lewis, nor was he as skillful

Tua's aggressiveness towards Ibeabuchi says more about the true worth of Ike than it does about Tua

Incidentally, I wanted to add that it's actually impossible for Danny "Little Red" Lopez to be in a bad fight... He was this scrawny, vulnerable looking stick of a man who basically threw 1-2s in response to everything... he had no defensive reflexes to speak of... every fight sees this great mop of ginger hair shaking around from all these clean shots he eats, and it looks like there is no way he can win and then with his UTTERLY PREPOSTEROUS right handed power he lands something that looks fairly innocuous and the other guy (who was literally beating the shit out of him seconds before) is suddenly stone dead on the canvas... astonishing

Even in his bouts with Sanchez, where he was almost never in the fights and just could not keep up with the masterful young counterpuncher, it's still FUN to watch... he keeps trying, stubbornly throwing those pin-straight 1-2s out there, JUST missing... the ginger hair shaking as his head is snapped back ad infinitum by the flushest right hand leads imaginable... an amazing level of courage... I can't think of too many fighters who are compelling even when being picked apart brutally

Everyone should find all the Little Red fights they can and simply marvel at the incredible flaws and the 9 times out of 10 overcoming of them... it's ridiculous

People often compare him to Saad, but Saad had some real skills when he needed them, he had some easy fights once in a while... Danny Lopez wasn't made for easy fights... Lopez KO1 over someone was still a hard fight for him... very unique guy who got a ridiculous amount from his talent (the power, the only real boxing thing he had, his insane power) ... His brother was far more gifted, but he wasn't a champion

Not because these would be spectacular fights or anything, I just think they would be interesting match-ups.

    Pacquiao vs Hamed
    Hopkins vs Hagler
    Tua vs Tyson

e-I guess I should have read the thread first.
