Vanes is Alvarez' mandatory. Arum and Schaefer have already begun serious talks about Chavez Jr-Alvarez happening next year. I can see TR offloading Vanes and making that fight as a prelude to a cash cow showdown. That would give Chavez a chance to reschedule with Ronald Hearns! (I kid, I kid)

Something tells me Canelo is protecting some china in his chin as well. I don't think Vanes will be the one to expose it, but I don't see a stoppage in that fight. In fact I wouldn't be surprised to see Vanes give him hell for at least a little while, more so than Gomez. Vanes can actually fight. His problem is that his mouth doesn't match his skill level (or entertainment value)
He {V} struck me as being pretty fluid, far better than JC Chavez Jr. I'm not sold on Canelo at all. Should stick to fighting flyweights.
Yeah that's the thing. If he just shut the fuck up and didn't price himself out of fights, he'd probably be right at the doorstep of title contention right now. Well, I guess he is - I think he's either Canelo's mandatory or a silver champion or some nonsense like that.
