Holy shit, what a fucker of a way to end the episode. It's obvious what's coming their way, but I would like to say that Darrell Dixon is one of the best new tv characters to come along in a LONG time. It's not because he's a cool person or a particularly good one, but he's a survivor AND he makes no bones about it whatsoever. He does what he has to do to survive, and he IS trying to get the others to survive as well.

This continues to be a very good show.

Wow, that ending kind of threw me a little. I knew something was going to happen but didn't see THAT coming.

And I agree, Darrell is the character that I'd most want on my side if the shit hit the fan.

WOW what an episode... This show is pretty awesome. I was fearful after the sudden departure of Darabont but after last night I fear no more!

I actually didn't care too much for the Season 2 opener. It just seems like the show is basically the same each episode.

How stupid are the parents in this show? There are flesh eating zombies walking all about and they never keep an eye on their kids. WTF? My kid would be stapled to my side.

The scene at the end with the deer was pretty fake looking as well. When they showed the deer in the scene at the same time with the boy you could tell that they were two separate images overlaid on top of one another. A deer isn't going to let you get that close without running away. And the stupid father and other guy just allow the kid to walk up to it? It could have easily gotten startled and charged the kid.

I don't really know what they're going to do with this show. I mean how can it possibly end? A cure is found? Then what though? People who have been eating other people and who are now somewhat decayed are going to be brought back to normal?

    damian you are an idiot

First off the little girl was literally right next the mom under a car than ran away... what was she supposed to do?

While i'll agree the deer image did look a bit fake, you are false about deer being "so" scared of people. While certainly some are, where i live in west texas I've had mule deer walk right up to fence, while my dog is barking at them. Some deer are skitish some aren't, especially if there is no hunting being done, they are even less likely to be skittish. Take into account its Georgia near Atlanta the deer are most likely pretty use to humans.

So you think that deer, living in an age when human zombies are trying to eat raw anything with a pulse wouldn't be "skittish" of humans and just allow a kid to walk right up to it? And I am the idiot?

The little girl wasn't under the same car as the mother. She was under another car. I'm just saying that if there are zombies all over the place and people from your group were JUST KILLED by zombies a matter of days ago, I think I'd have my kid stapled to my side at all times; not wandering through a parking lot of wrecked cars on their own and surely not under a different car then the one I am hiding under while a pack of zombies are passing through the area.

The second episode wasn't terrible, but had way too many commercials. The skeletor-ish wife of Rick is getting on my nerves. Getting on the doc who is trying to save her kids life about being a vet and talking all down to him; having almost no reaction during the flashback when she found out her husband had been shot in the line of duty, wtf?

Hopefully episode 3 picks up a bit because the first two have been pretty slow overall. I think it's due to both episodes focusing on the kids, neither of which are particularly interesting characters. It seems pretty obvious that in the next episode the fat guy that shot the boy will be zombie lunch. This show desperately needs a character or two to take over and become a character of interest for the viewer; looks like it'll probably be Darrell. It's kind of hard to get very vested in any of the others.

Looks good but I have to side a little bit with Damien here.

I do think the show has dropped off a bit since Darabont and the rest of the writers left/got canned.

A lot of unnecessary action and loopholes that didn't seem to be a part of the 1st season.

Example from the 1st episode. Old guy on top of the RV as the lookout with binoculars.............doesn't see a horde of about 200 zombies until they're right on top of everybody. From his vantage point he should have seen those slow fuckers coming from about 2 miles away.

I was thinking the same about the deer. That kids gonna get stomped out. LOL!

Still an enjoyable show though..............and yes, Daryl is The Man.

Officer Rick is starting to annoy be a bit. Anybody know why he's still running around in his cop outfit?

The messed up thing is that Darabont fired the writers and then he himself was canned. This show might be in a lot of trouble.

And when did the zombies start jogging? Maybe the show should be retitled?

Episode 3 was a bit better. The bad cop really is a piece of work. The less they show of the kids, Rick and his wife (Skeletor), and the Mom that lost her kid the better off the show is.

I like Darrell and the blonde is okay too. Hopefully some of the new characters they introduced turn out well and maybe they'll introduce a few more that can be quality.

I still have a lingering question regarding Season 1. How long did Rick's wife wait before she started banging his best friend. It couldn't have been more than a couple of weeks, right?

She want's to blame the partner for lying that her husband was dead, but damn, she didn't even let the body get cold.

Season two starts with a bang and drops off dramatically.. ep 3 was O.K I agree with you about the kids... it's boring. The walking dead must have taken a chunk outta Usain Bolt...they FAST

Overall I'm still a huge fan of the show but I did start a thread a few months back on the sudden departure of Darabont... Lets hope ep 4 gets the show back on track.

Episode 4 was a snooze fest. Rick's character is really, really bad. What's with him still wearing his cop outfit? The only character I dislike more than him is his wife.

Not many highlights to speak of in this episode. When I was fast-forwarding through commercials I noticed we were already around 45 minutes into the episode and I said to my wife "the episode is almost over and nothing has happened".

I guess the fatty in the well was interesting in a morbid disgusting way, but they had shown that in the preview. The awkward sex scene at the pharmacy wasn't bad as I like both of those characters. The Cherokee story by Darrell was okay, but at the same time it didn't really fit his character. The only other highlight was at the end when they showed the preview for the next episode where Darrell's brother returns.

Couple of strange things I noticed : how in the hell have the fenced in cows at the farm lived through the zombie outbreak? They're just sitting there waiting to be eaten. Leaving the horses tied up outside of the pharmacy for any zombie that happens to be walking by to take a bite out of while you get your game on? Really?

This show needs to pick up big time.

Darrell Dixon's character pretty much grew right there in front of my eyes in that episode. It's a bit decompressed, but it is good writing.

I actually kind of liked this past episode. The interaction between the Dixon brothers was cool. And Andrea popping a cap in Darrell's skull was tense.

Still a good show but can't hold a candle to the first season.

Is it just me or have the characters gotten far stupider and more careless as the storyline has progressed?

Lazy writing I think. Characters making a steady stream of stupid decisions just to create some action within the plot.

That's true regarding the Dixon brothers. Probably the best two characters that the show has had. Are we to assume that the older brother is dead from this episode and that his ghost is helping the younger brother?

Andrea shooting Darrell was pretty predictable as soon as the scene started, but it was still pretty good.

I guess the episode was better then the last few, but still something is just off. These episodes are an hour long and barely anything ever happens in that hour.

I really have no interest in Skeletor being pregnant and that seemingly upcoming sub-plot. It'll be interesting to see why farmer man is storing zombies in the barn and apparently feeding them.

Not a ghost. Just Darrell's mind fucking with him. Sort of the Devil on his shoulder whispering in his ear.

Watching episode 4 and 5...and the old man who owns the farm was right..."it's a wonder you people have survive this long"....

From seaon1 to season 2 the survivors got dumber...and they get lose, drive arrow through their bodies, get shot while touching a deer, use the ASIAN guy as bait, that was the dumbest fucking thing ever. The famr has 5 water walls so what if they lose ONE....:TLC:....but with the ending of episode 5...it seem thing are going to get GOOD....:dancingBaby:

I was really hoping that either someone would shoot Shane or one of the zombies coming out of the barn would bite him. The only one who stands up to him anymore is Skeletor. Dale tries to, but he's just too old and weak to do it effectively and it really makes you feel for the guy.

Cannot blame the farmer one bit for wanting that group off his land. His land his rules and they don't follow them. I really don't get why they can't just find another isolated farm to make their own instead of impeding on him and his family.

Great final scene to the episode.

I think you need a character like Shane. You need that tension of "what's he gonna do next".

He's conflicted but he really is trying to make surviving as simple as possible. I thought that would be Darrell's role, but he's developed a conscience along the way that Shane has actually lost.

I think Rick putting down Sophia, acknowledges he fucked up protecting his group and Shane in a sense was right all along, and also to show the old man they weren't hypocrites about who's a walker and who isn't.

As far as finding another farm to settle down on, I was wondering about that myself, but I believe they made a point the location and natural geography around them, such as the swamp and ravine around the creek was protecting them somewhat from random walkers stumbling upon their location.

They'd still get them every once in awhile but nothing like other places in the area.

I kinda knew he last walker would bring some extra drama but I was shocked it was the little girl and not the farmers wife.. Good episode but I was expecting more from season 2..

Kind of sucks that Season 2 won't pick up again until February. It finally starts to get good and then it ends.

If I was in this situation I think I'd look for a boat and just take my ass to a deserted island and only come back to the mainland if I was hard up for supplies. I also don't think I'd camp out in tents when there are abandoned houses all over the place. Would certainly be looting a lot more then they seem to do as well.
