Inspired somewhat by the recent match between Agbeko and Perez.

Who wins? Would've been a great fight in my opinion. Even though Cervantes fought primarily at 140, I wouldn't expect size to be a factor, with a sizeable height and reach advantage to Cervantes.

Quartey would just be too big.... even though P4P Kid Pambele was CONSIDERABLY better in damn near every facet.

since Antonio never was up there, I dont think its fair to Quartey to just assume Cervantes would be as good at 147 as he was at 140... thats one of the bigger division jumps in boxing... Im with X, Quartey wins because hes the proven commodity... Cervantes cleary the greater fighter, but Quartey was no picnic for any welterweight, Im certainly not goiung to pick a junior who never fought there to beat him

Cervantes was plenty big to take on Quartey.

i'm not clear what you're trying to say. Quartey was muscle-bound, but he was clearly under-sized as a junior middle-weight and was smaller than a lot of his contemporary welterweights.

i hate to think that nobody would touch this good and exciting match-up just because Cervantes didn't fight at 147, when in fact, his frame would've been plenty big for him to do so.

    pure speculation, nothing more

Cervantes never fought there, never showed any inclination towards fighting there... Quartey was an excellent welterweight, a good opponent for any welterweight in history... what your asking for is no different than a p4p match

quartey would have never even fought at welterweight if he had to weigh in under the same conditions as cervantes did.

Cervantes might be greater, but he doesn't have the size and strength to combat Quartey

He was clearly a better fighter than Ike... far more versatile and frankly, a lot smarter

you are the Spike Lee of revisionist history... you see "older fighter conspiracy" in your soup
