I have a feeling he's gonna give Manny Pac hell again. Styles make fights. Marquez is looking very strong in these 24/7 shows.

    Thoughts?

If Manny Pac loses this fight we will never hear the end of it from PBF and the Flomos. :scared2:

Which must be one of the reasons Pacquiao has reportedly been training harder than ever for this fight.

For being what's called a match-up of convenience for Pacquiao, without significance, and for which he should get no credit, there's an awful lot of pressure on him when you think about it.

PBF and his so-called "flomos" will be disappointed if Marquez gets to him first...robbing Floyd of the glory.

No. HBO and the rest of the Schlomos will spend all their time indulging Floyd and his Flomos about how Floyd already done beat Marquez and that therefore etc etc etc... :shit:

I am a uge Marquez fan, and although I think he has a great chance to pull the upset, I think Pacman wins it... too big...JMM is older...didn't look great at that weight the last time out...but with that said, styles make fights and JMM will always give Pacman hell, BUT...JMM always has trouble early, if Pacman can get to him early again it could be all over.

JMM IF he is what he says he is at this weight now because of new conditioning and such, he could catch Pacman at anytime as well...should be a great fight no matter what happens.

And the Floyd-Pacman fight would still happen if JMM beats Pacman, styles make fights JMM and I still feel no matter what the outcome Floyd would still get stopped by Pacman.
JMM has a way different style than Floyd. FLoyd would play it safe, and thats not how you beat Pacman.

In some ways, it might even have a better chance of happening if Pacquiao somehow loses to JMM. It'd give PBF the negotiating leverage his insecure and controlling self needs to make a fight happen.

On the other hand, the demand for the fight will have subsided somewhat, but it's unclear by how much.

Regardless, if Pacquiao were to lose to JMM, I agree with you - it doesn't mean he can't bit PBF. Now, the public, by and large, won't see it this way and so PBF would become a giant favorite to win, and there'd be less suspense building up to the fight as a result.

Lets be real... if Pacquiao can't beat Marquez at welterweight, he has absolutely no chance against Mayweather.

I agree Steve but this guy has proven to have the style to give Pac fits in the ring. Even though Pac is not the same fighter he was before I still think Marquez gives him problems. We will see.

    Put it this way....

Few would disagree that mayweather beats the Pac that struggled with Marquez in the first two fights. The argument for pac beating mayweather NOW is predicated on him being a much better fighter today than he was then. Should Marquez run him close again or beat him, we have to throw that argument outta the window and accept that Floyd should be a heavy favourite against him.

Yep... if Marquez fights Pac close again or even beats him, I think it's time to start exploring Huts point that Pacquiao hasn't been in there with a good right hand puncher since Marquez II.

Marquez won't win, but he'll make it tough, while it lasts. Could go the distance too.

Marquez will win 3 maybe 4 rounds and lose the decision...It won't be that exciting and there will be no knockdowns or KO's. Marquez will be more tentative because Pac will be trying to counter him with the hook all night.

this. Marquez looking strong doesn't mean anything, he's older/heavier/slower than the Marquez of the first two fights.

    Agree.

Not only is it generally believed that Pacq is a better fighter since he last fought JMM in March of 2008:

TKO 9 David Diaz (lost 0 rounds)
TKO 8 DLH (lost about 0 rounds)
    KO2 Hatton (lost 0 rounds)
    KO12 Cotto (lost 2 rounds)
    W12 Clottey (lost 1 round)
    W12 Margarito (lost 1 round)
    W12 Mosley (lost 0 rounds)

but I think JMM has not improved at all since then and is likely worse and is 38 years old now:

    KO11 Casamayor (lost 5 rounds)
KO9 Juan Diaz (lost 4 rounds)
    L12 Mayweather (lost 11 rounds)
    W12 Juan Daiz 2 (lost 3 rounds)
    KO9 Katsidis (lost 3 rounds)
    KO1 Likar Ramos

Styles make fights, blah blah blah...

There is only one likely outcome in this fight and that is Pacquiao winning easily. Easily.

I don't like JMM, I think Pacq is a juicer, and the undercard is unspectacular (although I would like to see Burgos vs Cruz). This card isn't getting my money.

I want multiple title fights on every ppv card, but especially when the main event figures to be a showcase. Bradley, who isn't the best watch anyway vs the ghost of Casamayor doesn't cut it.
