So he couldn't manage better than Roy Bum Senior or others? Cmon. Obviously Hagler is too big and too good at middle but Manny has the speed, footwork and skill to not be made into roadkill within minutes. It's Hagler, not Tyson at heavyweight.
C'mon Whiskey....this is like a Stafford response. You are better than that. Hagler also disposed of good middleweights in the early rounds of fights as well. Hagler was more of a boxer than brawler, but when properly motivated, he could make his opposition wish they had chosen another line of work. Sorry, but Hagler would destroy Pac. It might not be a first round stoppage, but Manny is in way over his head here.
Hagler in about 8th after a rather one-sided fight, but considering that Hagler was not a murderous puncher, he usually didn't go aggressively after his opponents, Pac has great stamina and seemingly a very solid chin and his movement is excellent, Hagler does not trash him in three rounds, no way.
Hagler too big, but not too powerful or too tall. He stops Pac late and his own southpawedness messes up Pac's rhythm as well.
Hagler too big and too strong. Manny would make it fun but he woulnd't last long in doing so. Hagler TKO 5
^^^^I'm just not sure how he takes a big strong middleweight's punch. If he lasts longer, it would definitely be worse for him.
Hagler is too much for Pac at 160lbs when you consider styles and sizes. Too much. Probably mid rounds TKO the more I think about it. P4P...probably a different story entirely.
Did I step into the twilight zone? Pac is better/greater than Hagler? More durable than Mugabi? The Mugabi fight being referenced in the first place (Hagler was past his prime then)? Have you motherfuckers seen a PRIME Marvin Hagler fight?!
Maybe the washed-up version that fought Norris, but not the one from before and up until the Hagler fight.
Hagler was a better middleweight than Pac was at any weight. To me that matters at least as much (more) than having a body and style that allows freakish weight hopping.
Hell, Pacquiao can go stride for stride with Ali nowadays. Hagler isnt an historical hurdle. I tend to side with division dominance over the multi-belt, multi-weight approach of the modern fighter too, but when a guy proves himself a world-class operator between 126 & 154, beating the kind of opposition Pacquiao has, hes irresistable. Hardly matters here, mind. Hagler would surely knock his man out.
