My initial response was Griffith on the simple basis of him being slightly the better man, but for whatever reason I feel like McCallum's style would give him some problems. An image of McCallum's rolling and countering working well as Griffith comes inside, flashes into my mind, and Im not sure where Griffith would win this from, given McCallum being so good on both the outside and inside. Certainly McCallum's slight achiles heel to movers isn't something Griffith would be able or inclined to take advantage of & a knock out is also against long odds. It'd be an incredible match up, no strong opinions on a winner. But McCallum.
Great fight... pick-em... A great technician in McCallum and a jack of all trades in Griffith... both exceptionally durable, both strong and dedicated fighters... Only thing I'm sure of is that I wish it could somehow be a reality
I swear, Griffith is somewhat overrated. McCallum to me was just overall the better fighter and technician.
I disagree... Griffith was a lot more versatile and was in with a much higher level of comp throughout his career I think McCallum fought like "McCallum" better than Griffith could have... but in other aspects of the game, especially fighting on the backfoot, sticking and moving, Griffith was a lot better
