Possibly a spoiler for some so don't read if you don,t wanna know the result Fedor won a wide UD over Monson, was in complete control throughout and dropped Monson several time who barely did nothing and fell to the ground everytime he was hit cleanly à la Werdum. Fedor was patient and looked pretty good, far less careless than he has in his previous fights wich could help him as he had to adjust to his disminishing reflexes. I still would like to see him fight in the UFC
Nope. He doesn't belong in the UFC now. He is right where he should be. He needs to be fighting bottom rung guys in Russia where he can thrive and pretend to be elite. At this stage in his career he would get handled by even middle of the pack UFC Heavyweights like Mir, Nog, Kongo, Struve, Nelson, etc. Hell he got knocked out by a UFC middleweight. There is no place for him in the UFC.
A M-1 fight ? In Russia ?? Same M-1 Fedor is a part owner of ? Let's repeat that the guy fighting in the main event against the EVIL American is a part owner of the company. I didn't see the fight but if Fedor won it was fixed.
Name one And Fedor right now is at best top 100 heayvweight at best so tell my why would UFC want him at all ? LOL Plus Fedor and his people were dicks and assholes back in the day and turned down a biggest contract offer ever so Dana Should tell M1 and Fedor to go fuck themselves.
Are you kidding me? Fedor was throttled by Bigfoot Silva for goodness sake. I would take Nelson in a heartbeat over Fedor TODAY. There are some guys on the UFC HW Roster that aren't clearly better than Fedor like Mirko, Pat Berry and Rothwell. But those guys are on their way out and ALSO don't belong with the UFC. But the real reason Fedor doesn't belong in the UFC is because, even he can beat a couple of the bottom guys, he isn't going to move up the ladder. He doesn't belong near the same cage with the top guys. So really, why bother? Personally I don't want to see him further shit on his resume by getting choked out by Mir or knocked out by Carwin. It's just pointless.
Fedor still provides drama whether hes winning or losing and thats usually good enough for Dana...hell,fucking vanderlei silva is still on the roster
s No, we're just actually watching the sport. And we watched Fedor get absolutely embarrassed 3 times in a row by mediocre fighters before finally returning to his previous MO of fighting scrubs. I've got no doubt that Fedor can win some and lose some against guys the caliber of Monson. But like I said, so what? And why bother? The person who is delusional is the one that won't accept the fact that Fedor isn't even a top 20 heavyweight at this point. He has slipped so badly that he is pathetic to watch. But like always, his management team will feed him scrubs and convince him to keep fighting because he's the best in the world. And to me it's doing an incredible disservice to a guy that used to be good. They need to accept the fact that he's done. Period.
Yeah, but maybe you can't read, but almost every single poster on this site wants Wandy to retire. There is NO one that thinks he should still be fighting.
There is definitely worse guys than Fedor in the UFC. There are guys of all levels, but Fedor isn't going to come to the UFC to be a gate keeper, which is what he would be. M-1 will milk the shit out of him charging 30 bucks for PPV's against Monson level guys. Nothing impresses me about beating Jeff Monson BTW. Cormier beat this shit out of Monson and made him look like a joke.
Fedor looked fat, disinterested, and lacking in a gameplan. He was a great fighter, but his time is clearly past. He needs to lose 20lbs and, as much as I hate to say it, he needs to work on his handskills. He seems to have really regressed there and on the ground. I think he is either burned out mentally or just not interested in training anymore. The Fedor of 2003-04 is long gone, and that's about it.
Well, you might be right but after watching Fedor lose to Werdum, Bigfoot and Henderson and ALL by different methods, I wouldn't bet on him to beat any of the guys you mentioned. And even IF he can beat Barry and Hunt, is the risk worth the reward? There is just as good a chance that he gets knocked out cold by either of them. He isn't clearly better at this point. Fedor's striking isn't sharp now. He doesn't have the core strength or quick hips to grapple at a high level now. And his face seems to damage easier and easier with each beat down. Again, sure Fedor can beat some of the bottom level UFC guys but so what? The dudes been to the top of the mountain in the sport and will NEVER get close again. He needs to depart with the win over Monson and be happy.
put him on the undercard like they did w/ crocop and maybe it will help sell tickets? haha i dont know. dont really care to see him in UFC, but i'd still watch.
