No doubt. He dun been disrespekked now, he gotta teach Ginger a lesson.

Then he's going to teach Ortiz another lesson, that he really could beat him without the cheap shot. The public wonders you see.

I'd MUCH rather see Floyd-Khan. Khan will get KO'd eventually, but with his handspeed at least he'll hang with Floyd for a bit.

The only question in Canelo-Floyd is does the Ginger last the distance. Cause he sure as hell aint winning any rounds.

Yep, it would be incredibly boring and 1 sided.

Khan has no realistic chance, but I agree with you, he could at least make it interesting for a few rounds with his handspeed/range/youth, much like Judah did before folding as per usual.

I think Canelo has the chin to handle Martinez power, at least for a while.

Whatever the case, he sure as hell ain't winning.

He really is. I thought Ginger looked small at 147 let alone 154. Chavez Jr looks like a decent sized 168 pounder to me, I'm surprised he can make 160. Maybe he has some special scales.

Tonight Ginger looked to actually be filling out a bit at 154, looked a bit chunkier than usual.

Cotto's lil brother doesnt think so.

Maravilla needs to get ALOT older and slower before Ginger has any chance against him.

Actually I pretty much did expect him to beat Cintron like that on account of Cintron looking completely shot agaisnt Molina. I thought it would take another round or two, but the fight didn't surprise me.

I picked the fight right on the money, just happened a little earlier... but I had no doubt Canelo would win... Name opponent, now used-up, against protected fan favorite in favorite's backyard

    it's as old as boxing

The only thing i'm surprised at is Cintron didn't quit. Of course the ref didn't give him a chance to.

He's not a bum but he sure as hell ain't that good.

Once he faces a truly skillful fighter with hand speed who can give angles, and counter punch, he's fucked.

Yeah, I'm scratching my head a bit. He beat Cintron worse then anybody since Margarito and he's only 21.

    He destroys Kirkland.

Did you not see Cintron's fight against Molina? Did you not see him tonight?

The guy is done, completely shot.

He is a shell of a once average fighter, this fight means nothing, honestly.

I thought he was trying to quit after the first knockdown...looked like he was trying to show the ref that he hurt his leg or something, but the ref didn't bite and the limp/gimp went away. After that he was winging some shots but he looked like he didn't want to be there...looked strange to me.

I've gotten away from watching boxing in the last year or so...alot of hate on this board for Alvarez. Is it just because he's being hyped as possibly the next big thing? I thought it was kinda strange that such a young, unproven guy has his own promotional company all over the fight...looks like a pretty good fighter to me, though. Just as some guys look amazing against inferior competition and then get busted up and rendered ineffective when they run into a great fighter, this guy that doesn't look spectacular may hold up against great competition...only one way to find out.

Best part of the night was the Corona girl constantly in the camera over in Alvarez's corner before the fight started.

............and he did what he was supposed to do, and got hit a bit along the way because that's the type of fighter he is. :scratcher:

No, I didn't see the Molina fight BTW.

Right now, Alvarez destroys Kirkland and Sergio destroys Alvarez IMO.

    It's all relative though Barristan.

Sure he looked sharp, against a guy who barely wanted to be there, and who has lost most of his own sharpness, speed, reflexes, and snap in his punches etc.

As they say, it's easy to look good against a punching bag.

I didn't say anything about him getting hit too much. I don't think he did get hit much actually, and that's because Cintron was throwing slow, weak, telegraphed punches with crap timing and accuracy.

Sure Alvarez did what he had to do, and looked alright in the process, my point is it really doesn't tell us much, because Cintron is shot.

Put it this way, I'll be surprised if Cintron wins another fight against someone who isn't a proper journeyman.

Cintron looked as though he was not into the bout and throwing weak ass arm punches until he was badly hurt. At that point he put some of this resident forums frenchs on his shots and was able to get the attention of alvarez. A bit of an early stoppage considering that cintron finally entered the fight and was hurt worse earlier

Eh, Cintron was pretty buzzed by the last right hand and I dont think he would have lasted toooo much longer. BUT, it was still a pathetic stoppage.
