Boy, this one picked up yesterday. What happened? MWS usually seems a happy enough fellow as does TexMex. There's some mean-spiritedness going on. Maybe it's the holidays? Even Double L got into it with sly, calling sly stupid. I think some people here need to stand under the mistletoe together.

Manny has a chance if he's allowed to punch floyd in the face. He needs to protect himself during the fight instructions/touching gloves at center ring. That's when Floyd is the most dangerous.

The Joe Pesci of boxing message boards. Any slight disagreement and it's stabbing at jugulars with his pen (/keyboard).

you're not kidding. besides hitting Ortiz when he wasn't looking, PBF has a long history of taking advantage when his opponent isn't paying attention - if there's an apparent lull in the action or a period of confusion regarding if the action's back on or not - PBF will go to work.

Yeah it's smart. Yeah it's legal (usually). But it's striking how offensive minded and aggressive PBF can be when there's no threat of return fire, versus his very careful, defensive and conservative approach otherwise.

I didn't mean anything malicious by what I said to Sly. I was simply reacting to his take that PBF could in any way easily beat Pacquiao. I guess I was bothered by that suggestion and could find only two explanations for it. The first is that Sly couldn't possibly know anything about boxing afterall if he truly believed that. Or, the more likely case, which is that Sly is so tightly wrapped in his hero worship of PBF, that he's able to imagine a scenario so ridiculous.

Floyd did pretty much the same thing to Gatti in the first round.

I believe Earl Morton was the ref and yelled stop or break, as soon as gatti looked at the ref, Floyd unloaded on him.

I would love to see PBF knocked out cold. Too bad the chances of that happening are low.

You are so uninformed. Floyd was agressive against Ortiz, Mosley, Corrales, Ndou, Hatton and many others.

He did it to Corrales when Chico was adjusting his trunks also.

But it's always legal. His opponents must remember to protect themselves at all times.

Hopkins did it to Echols...I don't see you or anyone complaining.

He does? I get the feeling he has to work hard at not coming off as anti-social and psychopathic.

I've already conceded it's smart and legal. That's not the point. The point - one you seem unwilling to accept - is it's an indication he's a asshole. He's a legal and smart asshole, but an asshole nontheless.

Therefore, it's anyone's purogative to complain and form their opinions of him accordingly. The fact you ask questions like, "why all the hate," is simply an indication of how clouded your judgement has been in your quest for the next superhero you can root for and build up.

He's a good guy, IMO. He doesn't mean anyone any harm. He just likes to sell himself and because he's not as articulate as an Ali it comes across as forced and ignorant.

I sense a distinct disdain for humanity in him. Call it unfair, but juxtaposed against his legal troubles, his ruthlessness in the ring, and his response in interviews to anything other than praise and validation, and I don't think it's unfounded.

    That seems pretty extreme.

He's a sensitive guy that cannot take criticism. Perhaps that's a result of childhood, who knows. I don't see him as ruthless and having a disdain for humanity though.

Hopkins has always been a dirty fighter. He's a piece of shit too.

Hopkins is the guy who cut Bouie Fisher loose not long after the Trinidad fight over money. To quickly review, when Hopkins got out of prison Fisher gave him a job in his auto shop and let him live with him then Hopkins cut him loose over money.

I've been one of the most vocal critics of Hopkins over the past 10 years. Where have you been? It's not surprising your super memory doesn't recall this because it doesn't fit within the parameters of your point.

It's kind of funny how you excuse yourself from responding to valid points by whining about the usage of ad hominem attacks and sophomoric humor, when your posts are literally nothing but "NO U R!!!" put through a blowhardspeak filter. You assiduously evade every single point made or rebut with strawman arguments.. There's no substance or intelligence to anything you say whatsoever.

With all the bitching he does while still undefeated...I can't image what would come out out of his mouth when he loses a fight.
