I know you see this completely differently, but IMO Ruiz' size advantage and style would be very difficult for Folley to handle. Yes, Jones beat Ruiz, but Folley did not have his speed nor his punch to keep Ruiz off, and at close Ruiz would maul him tired. Yes, Folley had the more correct technique

I can see that. I thought Roy looked better against the only common opponent at the weight though

I don't know bud...I just can't buy into this argument. To me, what a fighter accomplished is more than just the press release facts...i.e...top 5 contender or paper title. I've always been more about the quality of the fighters involved than just that.

And this isn't a knock RJJ thing for me...I thought Ruiz was a scrub long before he fought RJJ. Remember my Ruiz "Bandwagon"??

And Foster's heavy losses outside or Ali & Frazier need to be looked at in the proper context. None of them came when Foster was Light-heavy champ and could pick and choose his opposition. RJJ wasn't fighting heavies on the way up in his career in order to be able to pay his rent. And when Foster was in a position to do so, he went after the best at heavy.

But...like cdogg and hut have already stated...discussing the fighters at heavy is irrelevant in a MM at 175.

Certainly less fat, but remember that Ruiz had cut weight and elected to fight in an unfamiliar style against Roy to prove a point.

But yeah you're right Roy probably won a round or two more rounds against Ruiz

    Forget paper titles, rankings etc...

The real question here, for me, is how you guys think Foster would do against Ruiz? (If we're comparing them at heavy, of course)

    true. What an idiot.

Still, I'd pick Roy from the Ruiz fight to beat the (relatively) trim Toney that beat up Evander.

Yeah, Id say so but I think I might figure Toney to beat more heavyweights than Roy would. But anyway....maybe I shoulda just kept my mouth shut & not derailed the thread

that is only a real question if we are comparing them as heavyweights, we aren't

How do you think Chavez does against Roberto Duran? I'd say he competes well, probably loses, but it's a good match... okay, so how does Chavez do at 160 against Hagler? terribly, he gets splattered on the canvas

the match is at 175... Roy Jones vs. Ruiz has nothing to do with anything... if the thread were Roy Jones/Bob Foster at Heavyweight, then it would matter, but it simply does not

Right, but the thread went off on a bit of a heavyweight tangent

I'd break your neck faster than Roy could land an eight punch combo on Foster's grill, pussy

I'll roast your ribs hotter than the Biopsy Forceps used by Roy Jones's physician to remove pieces of Foster's boot from the walls of Roy's Sigmoid Colon, Gladys
