Khan now says they have appealed the decision and have a 50% chance over overturning it. He also claims to have consulted the rule-book and that pushing is not a point-deductible offence.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/bo...ns-Carl-Froch-Stop-Andre-Ward-youll-lose.html

Amir Khan has appealed against his controversial defeat by Lamont Peterson and warned Carl Froch he will need a knockout to avoid a similar injustice in his world title fight.

As Froch prepared to face Andre Ward on Saturday, Khan returned home to Bolton claiming he had a 50-50 chance of overturning the highly contentious split points decision that cost him his WBA and IBF light-welterweight belts in Washington DC.

'The appeal has gone to both governing bodies and we should get the verdict in the next 10 days,' he said. 'We had to do it, because so many wrong things happened, not least being docked points.

'We have checked the rulebook, and pushing an opponent away does not carry a point deduction, as happened to me. Also, the referee should have stopped me and warned me I was about to lose a point.

'It is important that justice is done or fighters will stop going to Washington"

Don't hold it against him too much. He's being schooled by the king of all "victims".

Lamont Peterson and Breidis Prescott were victims???

PS...are you referring to Oscar or Hopkins? Both victim queens.

Oscar is the king man, don't be fooled. Bernard's just the lapdog learning at the feet of the image maker himself.

Bernard didn't turn into such a bitch until he landed that body shot on Oscar...............Oscar looked him in the eye, whispered "Everything is an illusion, all things will be different from here on out", and folded himself up on the canvas, all his plans falling into place.

Sickening to be such bad losers. Surely this is going to lose Khan some fans, even in England.

They better fucking not overturn that decision, the ref did nothing wrong.

And yeah, pretty interesting to compare GBP's reaction to this ref and the one in Mares Agbeko 1, who was the single most in pocket ref I've ever seen.

Gotta say this is really fucking disappointing. I was still a fan after the defeat but this shit he's coming out with afterwards is really starting to grate. Just let it go for fucks sake.

Very poor show this from Khan. It seems that I am in the minority here in thinking that the referee was shockingly bad, but that doesn't detract from the fact that Khan was warned about fouling, fouled persistently thereafter and so was docked points. Be a man, take a rematch and win your titles back.

How was he bad? He enforced the rules.

We're just used to most refs letting fighters get away with spoiling, dirty, illegal tactics like holding the head down and excessive pushing etc.

He did is job, and Khan got plenty of warnings.

I have no problem with the points deductions; he just never, ever shut up. As I said in the immediate aftermath, my first reaction was that I spent more time watching and listening to Cooper than I did the fighters. The mark of a good referee is that you do not notice him. EvERYONE noticed Cooper.

My feelings as well. he was told SO many times to not push. The bit about not being warned...bullshit. The ref CLEARLY told him he'd lose a point if he did it again. That was in the 6th round. The 7th is where he lost his point.

As far as I'm concerned, if Khan wants to press the issue then Peterson has the right to contest the knockdown that wasn't...Khan was clearly hit with a shot then used his forearm to push Peterson down. It wasn't the result of a clean punch...therefore, those two cancel each other out.

The second point deduction could have easily been a point loss for hitting on the break. That infraction was clear.

To repeat- I have no problem at all with either point deduction.

Yep, no doubt. Pretty hard to contest those point deductions.

And feebs - fair enough, you do have a point. Obviously Cooper made himself heard loud and clear, however one could argue it was Khan's constant infractions that made that a necessity.

And either way, I think his dilligent enforcement of the rules, and "Fight him Khan" more than made up for his being on display, so to speak.

Ruelas? Maybe you're thinking of Gabe Ruelas. Rafael was not a powerpuncher, and he was not favoured over DLH.

He wasn't favored but he was picked by many to beat ODH, and he could punch. He punched better than Gabe in fact. Get it right.

It's times like this that I think you should be drugtested before posting on this forum.

He hit Pendleton with a million shots and couldn't stop him, and that was AFTER Pendleton almost had him out twice in the first round. His brother Gabe was at a lower weightclass and fighting better opponents. Rafael only rang up more stoppages because out of his first 20 opponents, only 3 or 4 had records above .500. He was also a volume puncher whereas Gabe was more of a sharpshooter.

Rafael feasted on a lot more tomatocans than Gabe. Actually it's insulting to tomatocans because he really feasted on CORPSES. In his 33 or 34th pro fight, he was fighting dead dogs who actually had WINLESS RECORDS: Juan De La Paz, Francisco Lopez, Francisco Ortiz, Roberto Burgos---in fact, in his fight before Pendleton, he "fought" Manuel Ortiz, who had a record of 0-3. Hell, 2 fights before DLH, he fought a guy with a record of 1-1-1.

I'm surprised that he didn't fight Jimmy Garcia after Gabe fought him. I'm sure you'd be right there, celebrating Rafael's amazing punching power.

Gabe dropped Jesse James Leija, almost had Gatti out, and killed Jimmy Garcia. He also fought better opposition than Rafael with the exception of DLH, who wiped his ass with Rafael. You don't know what you're talking about.

Rafael might have hit harder (maybe, but he was a such bottomfeeder that you can't tell), but he didn't punch BETTER. In fact, Rafael's technique was much sloppier than Gabe's. Have you actually watched either of them fight?
