Wow, surprising if this fight comes off so soon after the Ward fight.

I agree, I think Frock stops him late.

Bute is gonna whup Froch's ass, probably more impressively than Ward did.

Bute needs to be fighting Kessler or Ward, period. Froch is no better than the 3rd best guy at 168.

Bute, a Canada-based Romanian, insisted: "I'm Carl's best opportunity now. Right now I'm his biggest payday but I'm the champion right now and if Carl Froch wants to become a world champion again then he's going to have to fight me."

Froch wants a rematch with Ward but maybe not for his next fight.

"Obviously as a fighter, a warrior and a man who is proud, then I want to try to put it straight. But the fight has just happened, it's been and gone and we can't yet talk about it happening again," said Froch.

"Andre has won the fight fair and square but certainly it's something I'd like in the future."

He added: "I'd definitely take the fight with Bute, 100%. It's a fight I'd want."

Well, Froch's been fighting top guys for a while now. Bute's not. That has to help Froch's chances, whether you think we will win or not.

Depending when it is, I'd probably pop over to Montreal for the weekend to watch this.

A more appetizing matchup, style wise, than Bute/Ward.

Froch might as well retire if he can't beat Bute. That's how it worked for Hatton and Abraham, as I remember.

which is a quitter bull-shit mentality. anyone calling for froch's retirement, should he lose to bute, should read comic books and stop watching boxing.

    i think that's what you're saying, right?

Would love to see Froch win, but I do have a funny feeling 'bout this one.

    That's what I'm saying.

Shit happens and losses happen. I'm not a fan of the 'oh he should retire now because he lost' crap. Hatton shouldn't retire because he lost to Floyd and Pacq, he should retire because he no longer wishes to fight.

Frochs doing exactly what I felt he needed to do. Despite probably having the outstanding resume at 168, with only one clearcut defeat, he remains a dangerous guy who can be fobbed off by promoters as a twice-beaten, Super 6 loser with no belts. Beating Bute remedies that in an awful hurry and is just the maggot to lure the Wardfish out of the States.

Xplosive, you need to settle that raging boner you have for Dawson

    Ward would dominate.

dawson presents plenty of problems for ward. dawson would kick the shit out of froch. total mismatch. ward wont be moving up to face dawson, in what would be a tactical affair no one cares to see. wouldnt sell tickets anywhere, wouldnt get ratings to justify the amount of money both would want. i would enjoy watching it because its an interesting strategic match, but i would be in the minority.

Why do people still think Dawson is legit again?

Was it his win over a weight drained Adamek, or perhaps his convincing loss to a guy that Frock beat clearly?

adamek would have beaten the fuck out of froch that night as well. nothing convincing about that dubious technical decision in canada.
