Dawson would do a number of Froch. That dirty old faking man Hopkins robbed us of what would have been a nice display by Dawson.

You realise the common opponent they have, Frock won clearly and Dawson lost right?

There was nothing dubious about it, Pascal won clearly, he won most of the rounds.

Dawson is simply not very good. I'd pick Frock.

the stoppage was dubious. dawson was ready to continue. froch would get his ass whipped versus dawson at 175lbs and i would wager a lot of money on that.

Dawson was sleeping walking against Pascal. Every single time he let his hands go, he kicked Pascal's ass. He simply didnt do so enough until the late rounds.

If Pascal and Dawson rematched, I dont see how anybody could pick Pascal.

And Pascal if nothing else is much faster of both hand and foot than Froch.

Froch is too stationary and clumsy to beat Dawson.

I don;t think Dawson is any great shakes, myself, but he does present some real problems for Ward... I just don't trust him to let the hands go

That's the worst part about it. Hopkins was gonna lose big and he knew it, but wasn't man enough to fight through his doubt.

I'm not Bute's biggest fan but I think Froch is made to order for him. Sign me up on the "Bute will beat the shit out of Froch" bandwagon.

I don't think Bute is bad by any means, he can fight, to some extent - but I'm pretty shocked at the confidence of him over Frock.

He's not that good, and he's also far less proven than Frock.

I think Frock wears him down and out mans him. He has an air of fragility about him.

Mex, the only thing Froch has over Bute is "intangibles", i.e. resilience, toughness, willpower. Bute has everything else. After so many gruelling matchups, I'm not sure Froch still has what it takes to outlast a more versatile opponent. Even if Froch was fresh as a rose, Bute would still win the majority of the rounds, weither he wins or not.

I'm pretty confident Bute will beat the fighting farmer, as you used to call him.

In fairness, Froch looked shit against Dirrell and looked none-too-hot vs Ward, who is "slippery".

Bute has had one bad night his entire career. A bad night he put right in shocking fashion.

Bute might be a skating fleeting southpaw, but he's nothing short of a destroyer if you let him be.

Also, he did pretty well with Bika and Johnson, who were both Super-Sixers when it was all said and done.

I don't like this match for Froch, Bute might just be too fast. Froch seems to have trouble with faster guys like Ward and Dirrell. Bute's hands are pretty damn fast.

Bute doesn't have the footspeed of Ward and Dirrell to keep away. I think Froch will be able to hit him and that will make it a very watchable fight for as long as it lasts.

I forgive Kessler for going after Stieglitz's WBO belt, but he should immediately jump back into the mix. There are lots of big fights to be made at 168 and if he stays out of the limelight like Bute has, it will suck. I'd rather see Kessler/Bute, but the fact is that Froch has earned the right to cut in front of other fighters and get his shots first.

You guys are overrating Bute's speed.

He has good speed for a super middle, but Frock has already fought 2 faster fighters in Dirrell and Ward, I think they're both significantly quicker than Boot.

1500 BOXING: Britain's former world champion Carl Froch is close to finalising a world title fight with IBF super-middleweight champion Lucian Bute. Froch's promoter Eddie Hearn said: "We have pencilled in 14 April in Montreal and 4 August in Nottingham for the 'home-and-away' bouts."

I hate to say it, but I think Bute can beat Froch handily, after a tough few rounds to begin with.
